Just a little bit of a teaser to wet the whistle , no one is or has been more frustated than me this last 6 weeks , normally i would be stuck in there and getting greased up myself, happy as pig in sheet when im up to my neck and have a challenge on my hands but alas poor bad timing and covid pevented all that .

Hence my trust is in Ashely and Matty and co , I know im in good hands and content myself by the odd whatsapp message and eagerly awaiting replies, so last few days a start has been made , few hours here and a few hours there have got me thus far

Hopefully over the next few days , some exploritory work on the engine it self will take place

Went down to SportsItalia today Ist visit since lockdown , (but i think we are all agreed lockdown is kinda over now ) if any one asks i was testing my eyes OK ..............anyway , Matt and Ashley both at their stations, as Matt promised head bolts were cracked ready and how they had the will power to pevent them selves from peeking i just dont know,
Within 20 minutes both heads removed. Extremely surprised to see absolutely no visible piston damage to the exposed surfaces , video's to follow ..... next we moved to the under side to expose and removed the sump plate ,

4 sets of beedy eyes scanning all the conrods and bearings , all bar one seemed true and untouched except one which was bent latterally with a slight twist .................................. subsequently removed said piston , next question was will it turn now , so we replaced the sump plate , and wound it on with 2 nuts just to prevent it from any slightest crankshaft movement ........................... low and behold it turned easily , and by the 2nd /3rd revolution its was completely turning free as a bird ................................................. i think we were all in slight disbelief

Yes Phil 150% , I am absolutely delighted and over the moon , never before had three yoofs calling me a jammy fecker and rejoicing at it ..................definite goer and i get to keep the engine numbers in tact

No liner marks to any of the cylinders , and the block all in as perfect normal condition  spent the next 30 minutes deciding the best way forward from there and we have devised the plan ahead

We will get both heads pressure checked at the machine shop and we will renew all 4 valves, guides and seals to that cylinder , both rocker boxes will get new crinkle paint , So new piston/conrod/ and stretch bolt/big end shells/ and oil wash spigot/ new timing chains , and then i will replace both pre cats with new 200 cells

General consensus is and hopefully will get confirmed by Adrea Pozzi at some future stage is that it wasnt hit at speed into the water , rather probably had an almighty slurp into that one cylinder which stopped the engine instantaneously in its tracks ..................i suspect that if it hit copious water at speed i would of expected to see a lot more rods bent , possible valve and piston damage ,................so today im feeling a little lucky

Am I right in saying, that for the price of a new conrod and bearing shell plus labour, you got a bargain?
He who dares Rodney, he who dares.

Well you could say that , but its not easy putting your balls in a vice whilst some one else has control of the lever

Thats up to those abusive yoofs .............................................i want it done properly rather than rush it for the sake of it , i would say about a month now things are getting back to normal , and im allowed to test my eyesight weekly lol
