Same Gearbox in many cars including Ford Ranger Jaguar XF.
A beautiful gearbox.

Same in my Jaaaaag, and the DB9 and several Hyundais, BMWs, Audis, Bentley. VW etc etc. But not any Merc ever, as far I can tell....

Only £26884 on Auto Trader:D

Wonder why trade classics have it on autotrader for a random amount when it’s still live on the auction site with 2 days to go, currently at 25k (plus 6%), with a guide of 29-34?
No point anyone bidding higher now, may as well just phone up and pay the 26884 on autotrader!

Wasn't this car a relatively new purchase/owner or maybe just new to forum?

I seem to remember pic in a garage from not long ago. Cue Markmas and his search abilities.

Saw that.....Seems like a great buy and sensibly priced against some of the others with the same sort of miles. Also it has been well maintained from what I can see.

It’s not available at that price as I understand, I believe it is just an ‘attention grabber’. @conaero advertised it on behalf of his client the other day and it was £32k. The car is currently on sale in the auction at Trade Classics and is on £25k, £26500 with commission included.

Sorry Dicky are you saying that it's advertised at 26885 but they want 33k ?? So are we saying if I phoned up they would say they want 33k ?? I may be misunderstanding this but makes no sense to me......

It doesn't make sense Andy to the punter but does to Trade Classics. Little marketing trick to generate interest and advertise the car/auction listing.

Most dealers will often pay a flat fee to AT for so many cars a month so if they have spare they might as well use them.

The problem is this is a clear breach of advertising regulations surely? You can't advertise a car for a price you can't buy at surely?

Known as ‘bait advertising ‘ I believe. Not sure if it’s illegal in the UK.

Sounds like a load of b0llocks to me. So we are saying this advert isn't from the owner but put on by Trade Classic......I would say that needs reporting then if it's a breach.

Im pretty sure it will state in the t+c’s if you place your car with them for auction you are not allowed to advertise it elsewhere, or sell it yourself privately.

So the ad will certainly be placed by trade classics. Sort of undermines their own auction, which I find odd. Not sure how I’d feel about that if I was the owner.

With you on this.....I wouldn't be happy. These auction sites seem to be springing up all over the place. I don't think I would use them reading the above.

Nor me, but that’s what I understand to be the case. It’s currently being auctioned.

I suppose it would be fine if it was on autotrader with a ‘buy it now’ style price, clearly stating it is currently for auction.
The thing is, surely the ‘buy it now’ price should be at least 29k, the bottom of their own auction estimate, which is 29-34k? Not 26844....

Anyway, despite all this, the car looks great and will no doubt be an excellent buy for someone, especially with the 4K just spent on it. It should fetch quite strong money I think.
