Front sensor replacement GTS

I have a sensor fault on my GTS (fickle Italian components!) it comes up as front inside which is set in the grill. The car is covered by warranty but I am thinking it might be simple just to swap it out myself.

Anyone know how the sensors are fitted and if I can remove it without removing the grill etc

I would get it done under warranty just in case.
If something else happened to the sensor system following your own repair, I'm not saying in any way that it would, it could lead to an invalidation of any future claim to the same component. I've heard that it may be a bit of a fiddly job too

The front two need the radiator out and also need to be painted. Not too bad a job but why do it yourself and risk it when you have a warranty for that very purpose.

Is that right, they are just behind the grill, I sort of thought it would be an easy job .......eek !

That's what I've been told by Meridien when they replace one of my faulty sensors. Their fault code reader flagged it was a grill one but I was pretty sure it was the driver's side one. Sure enough what was promised as a quick job turned into something a bit more involved as the right hand side sensor had to be painted as well as fitted. If it was a grill one it was quicker but still needed the grill taken off. Emblem confirmed this me when my GTS went in for their free health check.

In fact my parking sensors are still not right and constantly throw up random obstructions when there is nothing there. It's not going to be covered under warranty for me as It's not happening all the time so if I want to sort it out it will cost some money.

Good news, definitely covered by my Warranty and car booked into Nuvola on Wednsday to get it sorted.
Spoke to them in the phone and they assured me the inner front parking sensors are a simple job and have quoted an hours labour. No need to remove the radiator or anything -

Good news indeed. Out of interest, how come it's going to Nuvola in Shepherds Bush for the repair when you bought it at Jct17 in Peterborough? Just curious

Car came with comprehensive 3year warranty and I can chose where I take it and Nuvola are a lot closer to me.
Also Junc17 are not Maserati Specialists, more of a high end dealer so it makes more sense to keep local and stay specialist.

Yes, makes perfect sense. I, on the other hand bought, my car from Nuvola but live close to Jct17 so was just curious, cheers

That is strange...both Emblem and Meridien said it was a remove grill job. Meridien did say it was an hours job so maybe they just are overly cautious.

Either way..glad it's getting sorted.

The parking sensors come white and will need painting but as mine was black I got them to do it with a permanent marker and you wouldn't notice it, a good little trick.
