Fuel flap activation

Guys.
my fuel flap has given up the ghost.
it worked ok, then would not return, so had to pursued it back into place with a screwdriver a couple of times, and now it will not even release.
Seems not amount of silicone spray will do the trick.
I think it's been an issue in the past as there is some evidence of old screwdriver damage to the plastic locking tab.
The things so stiff I can't even release it with the emergency pull cord.
I don't think its a fuse as the boot release works fine.
I planned to follow this "how to guide" to take a look at the solenoid but I'm stuck on the first step!

http://sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/351-Rear-Parcel-Shelf-removal?highlight=rear+parcel+shelf

I can't remove the covered panel from behind the rear arm rest and I'm frightened that if I pull too hard I might even break it.
any one have any tips please?

Thanks all.

Hi Mac, Can't help you on your second question, but with reference to the removal of the covered panel, when I did this on my 4200 it did release with a firm pull from the top.

Hope you get it sorted.

Thanks, if I get to the bottom of the problem I'll post the results, minus the inevitable swearing.

your original hot to guide is superb by the way.

wish me luck!

Can't take credit for the guide Mac, but glad to hear it's proving helpful.

Best of luck! :D
