Gear change issue

Hi guys,

I bought a GranTurismo MC around 9 months ago. Not had any problems driving around London, however when i go on longer journeys say 90mins+ I get issues and it doesn't change down to 1st gear from 2nd. I took the car to Joe Macari in London and found no faults reported with the gearbox. Any idea what the issue could be?..

MC Auto or MC Shift?

Auto has a rare fault which another member has posted on the recently.

If is a MC it could be the first sign of clutch wear.

Sounds classic clutch on its way to me mine was exactly same earlier this year. Just had my clutch changed 3 months ago and back to tip top

What's your mileage and you noticed any clutch change receipts in your paperwork ?

26k miles on the clock, no paperwork of a clutch change. How much should I expect to pay?

That's low but all depends on driving style.

You can change just the clutch or do the release beating and flywheel as well. I bought all 3 parts but when they inspected my flywheel it was fine so they refit it, flywheel is solid mass so lasts longer then dual mass.

I got 3 prices, 2 from maserati dealerships at £3900 and £3700 all in. My indi did it for £3300.

After a couple hundred miles you need to go back to get the adaptations re-checked / done

Should have added I got a few quid back for them not doing the flywheel, but it's surprisingly cheap for a part
