It's the car and on this occasion it's doing what it should do. Always puts itself in first when you're parked and then disengages from first to neutral when you start it. Mine also sometimes tits about moving very slowly from N to 1 and even occasionally gives 2 a go when I first pull away. I think I'm due some kind of gearbox reset, though

It is correct. It does not park in neutral. It always parks in 1 or R. Also I would always turn off the EPB when parking and just leave it in gear.

Otherwise you find the brake will stick especially if it was wet when you were driving.

Thanks folks, God love a good forum lol. Hoyin can you just give me an idiots guide on how to do that please?

Next daft question, top left of the dash digital display I assume this is the time as mines stuck on 6:21 despite the fact it's set right on the multimedia screen ??

Sorry Hoyin assume I just bang it into first then switch engine off without using the EPB?

You have to press the Park Off button just before (I think) you turn the engine off and once in Park. I say 'think', because as with all things Maserati it sometimes works and somtimes it says "eeeehhh, not today Luigi" and refuses to leave the EPB off.

Correct. Push the park off button before turning off.

I have never had a problem.

Perhaps my car is newer but all these gremlins that everyone talks about - I have none.

Mine's never done that but something to look forward to.

Maserati's are your Italian Mistress, they will do what they like, when they like and then purr in your ear if you get grumpy, game over..!!
