Ghibli 3.0 petrol

Had a petrol Gransport from new for a sum total of 3 weeks.... black with red interior and 21” titanio wheels...

What’s not to like I said as I bought it without a test drive along with a GranCab for my wife...

Hated it sooooo much... took an absolute beating to change it to a new Golf R...

.... which is also as boring as sh*t but made for a very easy journey to/from City airport every week (adaptive cruise I love)...

Think I’m going to get an Impreza as a daily driver... modern cars bore the t*ts off me..

Seen a few cars without shift paddles. Can they easily be retro fitted. Do heated seats come as standard? With most stuff operated from the screen rather than buttons to press it’s not as easy to see what bits and pieces the car has.

Heated seats aren’t standard but most have them. You can retro fit paddles but only to cars that have electric seats and steering column.
There’s loads of them for sale and it’s a very competitive market, I think the real value are the 2017 20k miles cars in the mid £20k’s.

Thanks Dicky. Are they generally easy to sell or do they take a while like the earlier Maserati’s.

I have sold a few but I’m very fussy about what I buy so as a result don’t buy many. When I do buy one, if it is competitively priced they sell very quickly. I always look for good colour combo, low miles, proper history. Then spec wise, piano black or CF, heated seats, paddles, extended leather and 19 or 20 inch wheels. I find the car a bit harsh on 21’s. Hope that’s of help to you.

And you can retrofit seat heaters (but probably not OEM, I guess).

Thanks Dicky. I’m slowly familiarising myself with them and what bits are standard and what are options. Prices vary a lot I’m seeing prices for 2015/16 plate cars anywhere from 18 to 24k.

They’ll vary greatly condition-wise, spec wise etc.

Here is what my MY15 had. Got it from the main dealer who originally supplied the car.

I am on my second, both diesels. I have had a petrol on a few occasions as a courtesy car. Agree with Keith the petrol doesn't have the shove of the diesel but the petrol rev band is so much better (less shove but for much longer)
I think if I did the mileage you are then I would err towards the petrol
Also have you got somewhere you can get it serviced locally?

Shiltech is about an hour from me so it would go there I reckon. I really want a petrol and will wait for the right one to come along. It’s not easy though. 167 Ghiblis on AT 112 diesel 53 petrol. I was looking at the 6 series gran sport 206 diesel 14 petrol. Diesels being much cheaper than the petrol equivalent.

This is the car you are looking at I presume ?

I am also after a petrol Ghibli but I think the search may have to wait until Covid restrictions lift. The spec on most seems fairly standard, with only a handful having the extended leather, convenience or executive packs. Are there any options people would specifically recommend ? Most Ghiblis seem to have heated seats, parking sensors and electric seats as standard.

Go for one with 20" wheels minimum. Any smaller doesn't suit the car in my view. There are some very basic models out there, even without DAB, heated seats and full 12 way electric seat movement. You'll find that one with 6 way seat movement doesn't have heated seats. My first Ghibli was so basic, I got rid of it within weeks for one fully loaded with extras.

Check out my earlier post with a link to the Ghibli brochure which shows all available extras.
