Reminds me of this epic track. I think those officials that made that order may have been on the same stuff as those guys were back in the day.

Thats a Ghibli in the pic tho isn't it? proper door handles rather than the electric ones, hope they not diesels....

Exactly - If they've ordered QPs and the car in the photo arrives, they might be coming back.
Obviously a modern pastiche of a true Ghibli, :)

If a 300TDI Defender can be made to sound like a V8, I don’t understand why Ghibli diesels have to sound the way they do. Don't plan on ever buying one, so happy to remain in the dark on this ;)

They are becoming great value for money as a daily drive....but my question would be as a Maserati is servicing for these the same sort of money as the rest of the range as its one thing bringing out a diesel for everyday use but it needs to be cheaper to service and for pasts than the QP's and GT's as if not it defeats the object. I would love one for my commut everyday.

I went and saw Contigo’s Ghibli D and I thought it sounded really nice. I also agree that they have become excellent value and can see myself getting one at some point when the horrific depreciation ceases.

I've got an 18 plate on the drive after I sent ours back for some bodywork I wasn't happy with so Carrs dropped off a new one and it is superb even on the 20's. Waft's along very nicely and has a real road presence. People slating the diesel have to drive one frequently to get the engine. It suits the car more than the Petrol imo.
Servicing on the Diesels is annually but they aren't as expensive as the Petrol cars from what I gather.

QP V6 Diesel can be had for the same money now.

I'd go for one of them instead.
Too big, I twixed, my Golf does 40 mpg on my commute, I think the Ghibli is 37 but Diesel is 10p a litre more, I've been looking at Golf GTD at 22k mark, but there "figures" are high 60's mpg. Would prefer wafting in the Ghibli TBH but would be a daily. If they get to 20 for 2015 with low 30k miles I think I may be temped.

I like the QP 6. Be great for wafting up and down the motorway in.
Once I get rid of the BM I have at the moment a QP6 diesel will definitely be on my list.
Petrol may well be cheaper at the mo, but the mpg is only better in smaller cars.
I want something big for motorway driving.

I think the Ghibli and QPVI look better and better as they mature, and stand out as special looks-wise compared to everything else in their respective classes

I agree, the QP is just too big for my needs, tbh, the Ghibli is too, now I have started looking, I did not realise how cheap the usual German barges have got too....

Your not kidding! My friend got a Eclass convertible a few years back, 2013 it's lovely... still feels contemporary, has all the toys and they are around the 10k mark now, who would want a Dacia over that?!
