Giallo - An apology

In a recent post, I inferred that a service by Gaillo may have been either not done or bogus. Having now spoken at length with Giallo, it would appear that it was in fact my misunderstanding that led me to believe that Giallo was involved. I am now satisfied that contrary to my belief, Giallo were more than aware of the problems associated with this vehicle but the owner at the time chose not to have the brakes rectified at the time. Subsequent owner(s) also chose not to rectify the brake fault and even the MOT station failed to pick up on the problem.

I would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologise to Giallo for any misunderstanding or implied wrong doing. Having spoken to them directly, I can only say they appear to be a thoroughly reputable and knowledgeable company.

That is a decent apology Yeti and we thank you for it. Whilst we appreciate your angst and frustration at finding the brakes in such a state and your need to vent said frustration, perhaps it's a timely reminder to us all that firing off before all the the facts are in should be avoided if at all possible. However, thanks again for holding your hand up.

Yup, I'll take that on the chin Benny, it's deserved.

As you say, anger and frustration got the better of me, especially as this is going to be my wife's car and brakes are the last thing you need to be crocked.

Still, it's nothing that money and grovelling can't sort out. I'll say one thing, if Giallo were closer, I would have the car into them in a flash to sort out the various advisories they picked up. The very fact that they picked these things up is admirable given they were only asked to carry out an oil service.

That is a decent apology Yeti and we thank you for it. Whilst we appreciate your angst and frustration at finding the brakes in such a state and your need to vent said frustration, perhaps it's a timely reminder to us all that firing off before all the the facts are in should be avoided if at all possible. Thanks again for holding your hand up.

Thankyou for your apology and it is accepted with the grace it has taken to say.

I hope this has been a lesson to everyone that discussing your concerns first before going on a public forum is ALWAYS the best way to get a resolution. If you fail to get the right answer or feel you are being bluffed off, there are abritration services available to all and this has a tendancy to bring a resolutions to a fair conclusion for both parties. I don't believe it is just or fair to bring your problems to open debate like this as it can back fire.

For us this is the end of this subject.

Kind regards

Mathew

I had a huge service at Giallo in January, there was a problem with the radiator and hoses leaking after I picked up the car. It took a couple of trips back/forth to diagnose and eventually fix the problem. The most important point for me is that I had the patience to let them fix the car which they did (& drop it off to Kingston) rather than get frustrated.

I've nothing but good things to say about Mathew and Giallo - they have looked after my car from Day 1 (carried out pre-purchase inspection) and I have total trust in Mathew, he's an honest and knowledge chap - there are also many other happy customers around here too.

Forza Mathew!

Well done Yeti.............It takes a big man to apologies and admit they were in the wrong and I am glad the matter is resolved on both sides.
