A few thoughts.
Check inner edges of front tyres for wear.
When was battery last changed - perhaps get a new one included in a deal.
Service from a specialist, I'd say about £1k, but for negotiation purposes call a main dealer for a quote.
Check the condition of the trim and interior - take your time.

Good luck.

As it's an MC I'd get a clutch reading. Really wouldn't want to have to pay out on a new clutch so soon after purchase.

Looks a nice example and price seems relatively fair to me.

Echo above check tyres and inner edges on the front. Clutch reading, 21k miles you should have a while to go yet u less it’s been thrashed.

Check cam covers for signs of oil weeps / misting, fairly common issue.

As everyone has stated above plus check brakes, they could need changing soon and very costly.

As well as brakes and clutch, check for oil seeping around the cam covers (which is quite an easy fix) and the timing gear cover, which is easy but bloody slow. Big labour charge, even from an indie. Also:

interior trim can peel. Evo stick is your friend, but it might help negotiate
exhaust valves open and close on demand (use the sport button to test)
uneven tye wear can indicate 4-wheel alignment is needed
air-con works / compressor bearing isn't starting to wear
cold start and listen for rattles. Check the engine number against the 'variators might wear' list. Whilst I personally think variator rattle is quite rare and even more so on cars that get used often, it's still worth being mindful because it's an expensive fix.

Best of all, get an indie to check it over. Could be hard with the car in Carlisle, though.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Price seems ok ish for that mileage and from a dealer with a 12 month warranty, but ideally I'd want the service carried out before purchase at that money. A service just 5 months down the line from purchase could cost you ££££. When I was looking for one, looking at service receipts of other cars they varied so much! from £1k to £6k !

Get a clutch reading, check condition of brakes and tyres - all quite costly.
Check any unusual noises from AC compressor
Weepy cam cover gaskets
Water in the boot
Sticky exhaust valves
All electrical stuff works - parking sensors, auto wipers, heated seats are regular culprits
Signs of interior de-laminating- around center consul and rear quarter windows seems most common.
At that mileage the suspension bushes should be ok, but if there is history of them being changed, that's a bonus. Same with F1 pump, although if not used for long periods that can get sticky I believe. Variators shouldn't be a problem on a 2011 car.

Also, looking at its location, see where previous owners lived and have a VERY good look underneath. I viewed one that had been in Scotland for 4 years. 24k miles, absolutely immaculate inside and out, full masser history and underneath looked like a 1970's Cortina!!

If all the above seems a bit much, get an independent that knows these cars to do an inspection.

Good point! Look out for two plates - one either side, about level with the leading edge of the doors - which are made of rust from the factory. Incredibly cheap and easy to replace (something like £20 from memory), so don't be put off by the shock factor and what an atrocious state they'll be in.

And while you're under there check the heat shields, which can come loose and rattle.

Subframes rust from the inside out as well !

I'd only buy from a well known dealership or specialist in Maserati. Unless you know a car personally.

Although higher miles, the spec of this car that Dicky has is magnificent and for me it's a special car. Unless you insist on MCS over Auto.

That's JonW's former car. Stunning. You could have bought that directly via the forum a couple of weeks back, for a bit less. Though of course, then it wouldn't have had the extra prep work that Dicky will have completed, and nor would it have included a warranty. Interestingly it's the most expensive non-facelift GT-S on the market currently - I think it's called the "Blu Med" effect.

You guys are so lucky, as you can choose between so many cars when buying. When I was buying (last year from June to December), I was simply looking for a sports car, not exactly Maserati, as choice of such cars in our country is so poor. In fact I was buying an Audi R8 as first choice, but finnaly bought a GTS MC Shift - great car by the way :). In all this months of searching there were 3 different R8 for sale, 2 F360s, a few Porsches 911, but all this cars in quite poor condition or without service history. So when I fount the Maser, which had 80.000 km already, but from second owner, all Masertai history,.... I didn't think twice. But I paid 55.000 EUR for 2009 GTS MC Shift with clutch at the end of its life (I knew this before buying). So when you see my choices and prices you see that you are lucky :).
By the way, if I would import car like this, I would pay almost 50% of aditional tax, so no way to import it for a reasonable price.

It’s also has the Sport Pack, Stradale Wheels, new brake discs etc. I’ve spent £4000 on the car since it was offered on the forum.

The one Outrun posted that we have for sale is an automatic; and we are a specialist dealer.
