Good afternoon. Chris Eggleton, from Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia. I have a 2000, 3200GT in a Gun Metal colour. Lovely car which hasn't cost me a lot of money to date, but has been a joy to drive, and reasonably easy to maintain, Plugs, coils, oil change (other than getting the oil filter out of the engine bay), etc. I have had the car detailed/restored/cleaned, by Autohaus here in Darwin by Brett Wilson, and it came up brilliantly.
My issue at the moment is a shudder in the drivers side window which I have asked advice on in the 'chat room'. Any advice welcome.
Cheers,
Chris

Good afternoon Sir,
Many thanks for your advice, I found the card removal procedure you posted, and have committed that to the memory bank. I may try and update with any nuances discovered when removing from the 3200.
Again many thanks,
Chris,

G'day Chris,
My later model 2005 GS had a loud bang in the driver's window mechanism and I had the whole mechanism replaced.
I seem to recall it was about $800 from EuroSpares, who are great source of parts.
Hopefully yours just needs lubrication in the channels.

Ended up replacing the window lift mechanism complete, cost a few hundred dollars from Euro Spares, replaced by my very good friend Ferdinando at Moro Motors, Mitchell, Canberra, ACT.
The broken/worn component was the nylon bush located at the centre of the X window lift mechanism. I am unsure where these might be sourced but if anyone can provide details of a replacement it would save several hundred dollars in repair costs.

The replacement bush for the 4200/GS can be sourced from these people.

Im not familiar with the 3200 window mechanism but somebody in the know will advise if this will fit.

Sounds like you need to take door card off and investigate. There are 3 known problems with window actuators and if attending to one then best to tackle all 3 while apart. As mentioned the central star joint can fail. I have a 3200 and used the Blythe and Blyth part ok. They are expensive for the pair (when you have to add import duty to uk) but really well made. Also change the micro switch for the window dip as these fail in time and are cheap to replace with alternative switches. Also weld the serated parts rather than rely on rivets - have a look at Craig-waterman.com web site for description or how to repair. Good luck.
