So, looking to change over discs and pads while got weekends free. Are there any places I should be price checking other than Eurospares and Scuderia Parts? I've looked at FD and looks like not going to come in much different.

EBC pads looks like EBCs own site is within a sniff of anywhere else price wise.

Hr Owen on ebay too. Think they are 400 per disc last time I looked though.

Thanks, was tracking that thread when replacements were talked about. I reckon originals are fine, although initially feel very soft after using other cars for a while, braking power is very definatley there, just quite different in delivery to my vx220. Kind of suite the GT nature. Ill message Zep again on prices though to see how stacks up.

Morning, couple of questions from doing a bit of reading on brake change:

Seen mention of 'service setting' for the electric parking brake to allow removal. Is this anything other than deactivating the auto brake set on engine off as set out in the manual to allow the discs to clear the parking brake shoes? and is there any sort of re-calibration that needs to be carried out on the EPB after changing discs?

Torq settings for the caliper bolts? not found yet, I would guess at 80-90, but would want to be sure. anyone for the actual figures?

Thanks

I know there is a big brake conversion offer on here (Zep I think) but having managed to find OEM pads that were shown as fitting for a Merc CLK also, this got me thinking.....

Now Mas being part of FCA means Chrysler is part of the group and I recall models like the 300c and Crossfire were based on old Merc underpinnings, so could it be that CLK discs would fit the GT/GC?

Anybody know or tried this or have a CLK and could have a look?

The Giulia quad has dual cast discs. Not sure on dimensions yet though. In theory with the power you would imagine they would use the same.

The Giulia discs definitely won’t fit as the wheel PCD is different so the holes in the disc are in the wrong place.

Yes, Merc discs were also looked at, different PCD and disc offset.

There are no direct replacements from other cars for the GTS / QPV. This may or may not be true for Ghibli / QPVI as there is more platform sharing.

I have checked quickly, the PCD of the Ghibli and GTS / QPV is the same (114.3 x 5) Alfa Giulia (110 x 5) brakes will not fit.

I think by this mean all of the bolts. Be my guest but let me know when you are trying it so I can stay in the house! ;)
No nails or sticks like sh*t should be fine.. Luckily I have the discs. Its the calipers that seem to have disappeared at present :nottalking:

Just a thought. Could a wheel spacer be used to convert the pcd to the the correct size. Guilla pcd on one side and the GT/GC pcd on the other.

Been done on other cars I guess. But is the cost saving actually worth it? By some of Zeps and just replace the rotors when needed..
