Hi Guys
I'm looking for a pair of rear discs and both rear shock absorbers (not Skyhook)
for my 2008 4.2. Would consider nearly new, as well as new.
If you can help, please PM me with details.
I'm just about to put her into hibernation until Spring, so if you know of
anything coming your way soonish, I'd be interested in discussing.
Thanks for reading ;)

Our forum GT discs are some way off yet so I would recommend you buy the Eurospares patten rear discs for now. About £120 each.

Yep. I always check ES to see if they have any offers on.
It's the shock absorber price that's making my eyes water a bit.
I've already thanked the baby Jesus, Santa and any other deity
I can think of, that the original owner didn't specify Skyhook,
while he had his chequebook out. £1,700 each, plus VAT!

Take them out, take them to a specialist and match them up. Check a Chrysler 300c STR8 the more I look at them the more you see the similarity.

Good suggestion. Will follow that up. Really though, shocks at about STG250 a corner, for a car of this type, aren't expensive.
Its things like this, that my vehicle account is for. Hopefully at some time in the dim and distant future,
I'll have the money flow going mostly in the other direction :)

Am I right in seeing the non-skyhook shocks for the 2008 4.2 at £230 each on ES?

If so it’s certainly worth a call to Ross at Meridien to see if the forum discount will save you a few quid.

You won’t see many used ones as they are pretty cheap new and probably knackered when removed from a breaker.

I have a single shock from a 2009 QP5 you can have. No leaks when it came off

That's them Zep. The price is okay really, considering how important they are.
I hate paying 'retail' for anything and was trying to find out, if the GT shocks are common to any other models. Enquiries are ongoing.
Cheers Keano. I may take you up on that part. Would you PM me your price. Thanks :)

I’m the same, I love a bargain. I just wasn’t sure the juice was worth the squeeze. I hope you do find an alternative, that would be good for everyone, good luck! :)

Hi Guys
I'm still looking for a pair of rear shock absorbers for my 2008 4.2 Granturismo. My mechanic tells me that they're Bilsteins and that any identifier is obscured.
Unfortunately Bilstein UK told me that they don't have them listed in their catalogues.
Can anyone tell me which Bilstein shock is fitted to this model?

Hi Guys
STILL looking for rear shocks. Please give me a shout if you have a pair to sell, or you know the Bilstein part number.
Cheers
