Just a quick update. The resized prototypes should be here by the weekend. If they fit, the we are 2-3 weeks away from the production versions arriving. If they still don't fit, I'll have to go around the loop again, which will add a further 10 days. The problem is that we are talking fine tolerances on the push-fit. The 3-D printed plastic sample fitted perfectly on a CNC file that specified a 2.5mm gap, but the metal versions, manufactured from the same file, were a sloppy fit. When measured, the 3D printed version was actually 2.25, because there is significant tolerance 3-D printing. I've reduced the gap on the CNC file to 2.5mm, so fingers crossed.

Morning Stindig - I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say thanks for your work on these levers. Is there any update on the new prototypes? Or is it still too soon?

Revised prototypes arrived but, disappointing, still a floppy fit - and nobody likes that.

I have made 3 new cad files at different sizes and am due to receive 3 further prototypes in a week’s time. Fingers crossed. Apologies for ongoing delay

Stindig, if a job is worth doing then its worth doing right. Take you're time, it's not as though our cars are off the road waiting for wheel bearings (sorry to those who are!) . Come back when you have finalised the prototype, then work out your costs then offer them out. We can wait.

No worries. They are ready when they are ready.

Here is a challenge for the grey cells @stindig.
The one thing I hate is the seatbelt rubbing on the seat and no matter whatever height I set it, also rubbing on my neck.

Is there a way to have a simple guide that could fit behind the outside seat lever to make the belt stand off slightly but also be easier to reach?

Something like these so belt can be removed if rear seats are being used.

It’s a great idea, but I’m not sure what you would attach it to, unless we did another design of seat lever with this integrated. Also, I can’t see there being the necessary volumes for something so niche - but I could be wrong.

Suggest the slot for the belt would need to be open-topped, so that you could get the belt in & out?

I was think either a plate which could slot over the stem of the lever and maybe grub screw to the back of the lever or a modified outside lever. It may even work just being a 3d plastic version.
Simpler is probably a different design to the outside lever.
And yes a slot to remove the belt would be a must have.

3-D plastic printing is great for proto-typing one-offs, but would be circa £80 per unit. And the plastic definitely wouldn’t take a grub screw
