I thought it looked familiar. Been to the Lake District a few times and not often enough.
Was offered a consulting job in a firm on the edge of the Lake District several years ago
and always regretted not taking it. However, who knows what the future holds :)
The Derwent Valley was where 633 Squadron practiced for their raid on the Ruhr dams.
Every time I move, one of the first items on my to do list is to find the best local cooked
breakfast or Ulster Fry, if at home. Or, the Full English, if anywhere else ;)
Sometimes, there is no substitute.

4 years too late, but as I just said, I found this thread tonight and looked at every page. Mainly at all the fab pics. But, I feel the need to correct this post as well

The Derwent Valley where the practice for the Ruhr dam raids isn’t in the Lakes or near Derwentwater. The practice was on the Derwent and Ladybower Dams in the Peak District. Oh, and there wasn’t a 633 squadron in WW2, it was the 617.

I tried to resist and ignore this old post, but the pedant in me couldn’t resist.
