GranTurismo Sport Nav screen

OK so the car is 6 weeks old and everything is running well but today the NAV screen went haywire when I started her up - all lines and weird colours- fuzzy is the best way to describe it. You can't force a reboot as you cannot see any menu items. Radio works, but screen and system is unusable.

Tried switching ignition on/off - leaving for 10 minutes etc. Called dealer and they said "not sure we will need it in to have a look at"

Any magic fixes to force a reboot or does someone know how to access the menu by number of button presses, rather than by visual navigation through the system?

I would rather not have to drive 60 miles to the dealer to get it fixed, or have them collect it and add 120 to the clock.

Sounds like the software has crashed, you can try this:

Check the software level of your car?

- Press and hold the menu button.

- 3 options then listed, select the middle option, should be Radio / Telephone Diagnostics

- Then select unit description

- Then software level / version

Matt / kmeand,
I would imagine if the screen has crashed that the buttons will not work, it sounds like the whole thing has crashed and frozen on one radio station. If it's possible I would be inclined to turn the power off / disconnect the battery and see if you can reboot from there. Switching off the ignition is still leaving power to the alram, so total power off, it can not get any worse.? It could even be due to the cold weather and the set is cold.?
Cheers

Disconnected battery - powered up fine. No obvious reason - it has seen colder mornings - thanks for the tip. I'll be keeping an eye on it - fortunately I know the way to the office so Satnav is not used much :)

Kmeand,
Excellent news, glad it worked, it's just an Italian thing, like a young Italian mistress, unpredictable but sortable in one way or another..??
