My X Pipe from Autoshield arrived today and looks to be identical to the Larini one for about half the price.... £280 plus shipping and VAT so about £360’all in.

Thanks for the tip Bebs and I’ll get it fitted shortly! 72645

I need to order a couple of sleeves for mine as I don't like the clamps. Would you mind measuring the outer diameter of the piece for me please? Mine is in paint at present so not here. Thanks

Looking forward to your video and personal opinion on the character of the sound before and after the Larini X Pipe. I have added Larini Sport Cats, which deepened the tone a bit, and definitely added high rpm power. But have been hesitating on the X Pipe as I’m not sure what it will do to the tone. And as we know, the tone of the V8 has a lot to do with the thrill of driving these vehicles.

I wouldn’t say the tone has changed at all with my x-pipe. Just 20% more volume and more crackles and pops on the overrun. With valves closed it’s near enough identical to previously.

Excellent news - I look forward to hearing it! :alan4:
I defected to the Dark Side and had the X-pipe fitted to GS. Noticeable improvement in power through better scavenging of exhaust gasses. Noise? Different matter. In Sport mode I detect little difference from inside and no crackles or pops on over-run. Maybe folk outside can hear a difference and pops.

Very noticeable improvement in power, most definitely.

Can you hear the pops and crackles in the car. Is it in a Gransport that you fitted the X-pipe? I ask because the Granturismo has different headers and perhaps that's why it gives a different tonal range and pops and crackles. The Gransport does not sound like a granturismo without major re-hash of the headers and pipes and perhaps creating CEL issues and lambda sensor issues. I had no intention of the cost and the issues of hacking out the standard system from my car. I'm happy with just the X-pipe for the extra oomph it has given - obviously much better scavenging and emptying of the cylinders exhaust gases.

I had pops and crackles with an X pipe on my GS, but they are much more subdued than in a GTS. In terms of design philosophy the GTS exhaust is very similar to the US style 4200 exhaust with short primaries and close coupled cats. The pipe sizes are certainly bigger though.
