Much thoughts on this? It's first service was 11,000 - seems like its missing an interval before this, however not sure?

Keen to hear your thoughts.

It states full service history so you should see a service EVERY year ... or it is not FSH.

And so unless 11,000 miles were racked up in the 1st year it is not FSH. And a fair amount of value is arguably in FSH for any car, especially a Maserati.

I believe that that's an ex forum car with a significant mark up after being bought from the seller a few months back.

It is an import from HK and there is a great write up on what the private buyer did over their short ownership. If I recall correctly the HK service history is not the best.

The car in advert doesn't have the black alcantara dash, i think its a different car?

The car is missing loads of services then, its had 5 in its life time - how many have actually been serviced annually? Is this a rare thing?

There st not many FB cars in the UK... the other one I know off is the ex Dick Lovet supplied Wiltshire car.

That too had a dreadful history with a late first and then nothing for an age... also some poor paint.

Do a search on here and you will find that one too.

ok thanks for your help, i'm in two minds on if you move on this or not at the moment - the service history is concerning me for resale.

FSH means serviced according to the manufacturers service schedule with proof, it doesn’t have to be serviced every year.

Ok thanks - can you see the service history of this car being an issue?

That depends. I would certainly be wary of a lack of SH in the early years (not keeping up a strict regime for a 20 year old car is a different matter) BUT if the car has made it this far without blowing up, you could argue it is not an issue.

I have paid a premium for FSH cars in the past (and still had issues) and taken a punt on limited SH cars and had no problems. For me it is all about a proper pre purchase inspection and making sure the price is right.

Not withstanding the need for inspection 5 service over 40,000 miles is not really a concern for me, but I would want tj consider that schedule against its MOT and mileage history, some of these cars get put away and do just a few hundred miles in a given year. But I wouldn’t pay a premium for FSH if it’s not got it.
I do like that colour though

If it missed an oil change service back in 2006, so what?! But if it has only been serviced 5 times in its 17 year life, that’s another 11 services missed, which is a bigger deal come re-sale time.

The green GS I just sold had been serviced every year since new, so proper full service history cars do exist.

I think there is a reason this is still hanging about, i think i'll pass on a GS with that little a service history.

Fully agreed and same experiences.

When it comes to even older classics, FSH becomes more irrelevant but always helps having some history and records. Condition of the car and a thorough PPI such as compression tests and if needed an engine oil analysis carries more weight. I’m talking about 30+ and 60+ year old cars…
