I believe it's Robert's Porsche, he's seen the light so don't chastise him too much.
Thanks. We were on a Car Club Run. Most of them are from the Porsche Car Club, but at least 2 of them now have GS's also.
The Carerra is now consigned to the new Carport. The wife would not give up her spot in the garage.Do you add the cost of the new carport and concrete slab to the cost of the GS?

Robert, never been into Porche's and never driven one, how do they compare mechanically/drivability?

Hi,
This a little difficult. I had the 996 for over 10 years so obviously it is early days for the GS. I have peddled the 911 very hard at times in very tight hilly climbs and runs. It is a smaller car and in typical German fashion just does its job. I was going to trade up to a new Porsche , but after driving they are just so un dramatic and cold. One would have to be at incredible speed to get anything from the car.its why many are going back to restore early cars to get enjoyment from them. Roger who has a number of Porsches said I should have a look at the Gransport. My early impressions is that I enjoy the Drama of the GS . It is a great GT car with more space, love the LE interior, style etc. a different car for a different trip or drive. At this stage I think I will still keep the 911. Just my opinion at this stage , many may disagree with my view.
Cheers

Robert, everyone is different and we won't hold your irrational 911 fetish against you! They are fantastic everyday supercars but lack that certain something that Italian cars have in spades. However, keeping it will make you appreciate the GS all the more every time you drive it.

Couldn't agree more with you Robert... My plan a couple of years ago was to get rid of the 911 and buy a 3200... I bought the 3200 but still struggling to part with the 911. So very different cars for very different occasions.

The best of both worlds I think.

I agree too. Ihave had three Porsches and they are bulletproof reliable in every way. But...they don't rate for soul with. Masr or Ferrari or a Lambo I think of the Porsche as a sports car and the Maser as a Grand tourer. Both great cars and if you are lucky enough to own one of each then you have then you have the perfect recipe as I wouldn't trade either for the other.
