The thing is somebody was brave enough to be the guinea pig, they must have been prepared to pay the cost of Larini or tuba so thought I'll give it a go.

If you were thinking of trying it the most it's going to cost is a new exhaust , the least , just weld them back in

That is indeed very brave. There are used 4.2L back boxes on eBay for £300 or so... May be worth a punt?

Had mine done, X pipe (although might try an H to compare) and secondary cat delete and it sounds much nicer at high revs. Idle is pretty much the same.

The problem with gutting the back boxes is that it make a tinny sound.

Agreed about the gutted back boxes, they can sound worse but I guess it depends from car to car, I've not heard them done on a GT so might be worth a try

Primary de-cat, x pipe and Valved rear boxes works for me

Cheers Stuart, it has the right balance. I don't think the QP should be mental loud, it is quiet on idle but a quick blip (these engines rev so quickly) and it really sings. Watching peoples faces at traffic lights when you blip it is funny as they jump back in fright. :D

As I am sure you know with your bonkers sounding GTS.

Indeed, I'm still waiting for someone to drop their shopping when I start it up at the supermarket! But yes, I think yours has just the right balance & not too screamy
