GT Key Fob Question..

Hi there folks - something which has been bugging me a little is around the key for my 2007 GT. I have to almost be next to the car to unlock it so wondering if anything is gradually failing? It’s a 10+ year old car after all.

Also a few things about unlocking. I need to double click the open twice to unlock both driver and passenger doors (anyway I can change this?) and also to open the boot I literally have to stand next the boot and hold the button down for about 5 secs for it to open.

Maybe I need a new key but welcome any insight! Cheers

The obvious thing would be to change the battery

That was the first thing I did lol… didn’t seem to make any difference

Maybe it’s just another ‘feature’ of our lovely GTs to stay up close and personal? ;)

I think it varies from car to car TBH. I had to be pretty close to my old one for the fob to work but the new one is much better.

There is an option in the Configuration menu (I think that's where it is) to change the double press issue and you do need to hold the boot unlock button for a couple of seconds to unlock that. It's one of those endearing quirks!

Yeah, as above. My old one had a good range. My new one, not so much.
The door locking menu is on the infotainment.

I’ve upgraded to the latest AuCar (will post a thread on that later) so need to check if I can access some of the config functions - there was a menu I recall.

One other annoying quirk with the boot is that after I unlock it, open the boot and shut it again, I need to the use the key to unlock it again straight away before I’ve driven off or anything. I just need to keep a poker face while people admire the car and me struggling to deal with this lol :as001 (2):

Have you tried the spare key? If it’s the same then it must be the car’s receiver that is not giving enough range.
