Looking for an H pipe for my Strad ( same as for Granturismo), just checking before ordering one from Larni.

Im also looking into the h-pipe, need the resonators on the h-pipe. The full sportcat/x-pipe/sport mufflers is too loud. Im actually reaching out to some exhaust shops, seems the larini price seems a bit steep.

I guess an x-pipe is with resonators would be better. But then we need to change other parts as well.

No. You want an X-Pipe. H sounds too much like a Mustang. You should know that Sam! X gives pops and bangs on the overrun. That's what a Stadale is for.
I have got the X pipe fitted but am not convinced about the sound so am exploring what the H would sound like.

The oem mid-pipe is an x-pipe with resonators from the factory. So a good place to start would be to put one of those back on, as they'll be cheap as chips second hand, and may be enough for you.
I can imagine sports cats, non resonated xpipe and sports rear box must be a bit extreme!

X Pipe for the Granturismo, H pipe for the 4200/GS. It's the rules.

Generally yeah. Although, an x on a Strad does make it quite raspy, and a Strad doesn't need any help with pops and crackles like a GTS auto, so an H might put a bit of class back in the tone.
I'll be interested to hear Scaf's opinion when he changes.

H on a GTS makes the car sound very American as has been mentioned above. It's not a bad sound, but I don't think it suits the car.
Sam might like it as he has a Mustang already.

I imagine the best tone / volume combination on a Strad would probably be sports cats and the rest OEM.

I put the oem back on for now (my x-pipe is available for sale, larini). But its quite a big difference in volume. But without a resonator it hurts your ears. So i need something in between. I might choose to skip H and just straight pipe it with a resonator. But i think the x/h do help with best exhaust flow.

That is the nice thing about a custom exhaust shop. i can put straight pipes on and always change to an h layout, or vice versa. I would hate to cut up a larini h-pipe.

I can confirm that it is indeed 'mad'. I heard you pull away from Alton the other weekend and it certainly does make an astonishing noise!

I wonder what is the impact on the sound of the exhaust depending on where the bridge is located - nearer or further away from the engine
