What would be the right one? Blu Sebring with tan?
Maybe, I'm a big fan of Med Blue with a white/grey interior but I've only seen the Sebring in photos so I'd need to see it "in the flesh" so to speak.

Do you have one for sale? Feel free to PM me.

Have looked at a couple of GS and they weren't particularly nice, especially the buttons etc. 25k gets you a mid mileage Vantage from a dealer, even a convertible for a couple of grand more. I am torn between which to get at the moment, I know the GS is 4 seats, but there aren't many options for this type of car if you don't like German cars and have had an XKR. Some of the colour combinations are garish, particularly on the GS. The Aston auto is shite and even the manual struggles to reverse, and many of the owners seem to think they are James Bond which is a bit off-putting. The GS is a bit less comfortable to drive and the 'auto' puts a lot of people off so I think unless you are a dedicated lover of the car you would be unlikely to buy one.
There are GS cars out there that have been for sale for a long time, and a couple of 4200's that have been for sale for a couple of years. An Aston I looked at 12 months ago for 29k is still for sale at 26, so I think the prices are a bit skewed.
I honestly am concerned they will drop more and bring the price of the 4200's down with them.
Does anyone know the history of this one? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Maserati...245646?hash=item5b793fc28e:g:~cgAAOSwnAJeW~In

Apart from the worn driver's floor matt, that looks like a good candidate for ownership. In Australia the Avorio dash had way to much glare, so I had mine retrimmed in black. I'd suggest the same with that one.
I watched a car test on YouTube last last night where an American guy only drives his GS in auto and was making excuses for that system. In nearly 7 years I've used auto mode twice, both on day one learning the car stuck in traffic. These are a car to be driven enthusiastically and are set up as such. No functions on the steering wheel, no cup holders.
As for values these will climb in time as they are the peak expression of the 3200 / 4200 / GS series, with the least numbers produced in the GS. There are some rare releases such as the 90th Anniversary and MCV models worth the most. The GS is in that waiting period of getting older before it becomes a collectable classic. Clever people enjoy the Ferrari engine / gearbox / clutch drivetrain for a fraction of the price.

Also forgot to mention the switches can be fixed. I've had all mine done. Some do it themselves using clues here on the forum. I sent mine to a forum member in Florida who does it as a paying hobby.
Good luck with your search.

Came from Scotland previously.

I sold my GS at the start of this week. It was a great spec, had no issues, full history with receipts, low owners, lovely condition (with no sticky buttons and no carpet wear!). One very small blemish due to a stonechip on a wing edge (barely noticeable) but otherwise pretty immaculate. I had loads of emails and enquiries, but the majority (not all, thankfully!) were seemingly timewasters / people half thinking of a GS but not ready to commit.

I probably sold too cheaply, but I don't enjoy selling cars, and they do seem to hang around for sale for a long time. Mine went within approx 2 weeks of advertising. The problem I found is even if you've got a good one you're competing against other much more average cars - people seem to be suspicious of them for some reason so if selling a GS privately it needs to be cheap.

With regard to values, I think the GS is great value, and anyone buying now should have pretty low depreciation (setting aside the wider economic uncertainty). It's still a great looking car, and very rare. You're comparing to the Vantage, which feels like a step up in terms of ride and build quality - it feels like a newer car, but is less rare and at the moment prices for early ones seem high (I paid £31k for my first one when it was under 6 years old.....the same car is now 14 years old and would probably only be advertised for 10% less).

Hi

I think that's the one Richard Grace, forum sponsor looked at a couple of weeks ago. If it is that one he has detailed info.

Definitely worth giving Dicky a call/PM on here in any case as he may have something in the pipeline.

Did anyone look at this one in the end?

Same one I have just asked about.
Came from Scotland originally. It has been for sale for a while now gradually reducing in price. I am going to see if I can get over to look at it this week.

It looks like an absolute ******* at this price (think it started at £23k)?

Not too far from me in Lytham...think the dealer has a decent reputation although I’ve not used them myself,
