It’s a real shame, such an old brand, even though it was badge engineering in the end.

Vauxhall are probably safe for now as they were sold to PSA I think.

Vauxhall is now under the ownership of PSA - GM sold the whole European arm in 2017 so it's likely that Vauxhall will survive (or at least that it won't be GM that bin it!)

When GM stopped building cars in Aus this was always going to be inevitable, Holden was an iconic brand and arguably one of the first muscle car manufacturers.

Wouldn't be too confident in Vauxhall surviving under PSA, Opel is the brand name in most of Europe why have two different names especially if production in the UK becomes an issue, neither UK Vauxhall sites are in a particular healthy place regardless of trade changes

My sister's hubby's family are Luton based and die hard Vauxhall owners. Partly cos they get them cheap, obviously, but they do inspire a surprising level of loyalty.
Don't get it myself....

When I was delivering cars a few years ago, after retiring, the Vauxhall’s were alway the worst to drive and much worse than their Ford equivalents. I wondered then why anybody would buy one.

I generally think this was always the case especially anything pre the first Cavalier which was really an Opel with a Vauxhall front. There was a period mid 80s through to early 90s where the Vauxhall equivalent was better than the Ford offering, Cavalier, FWD Astra, Sportshatch, Carlton etc were all better than Sierra, Escort, Capri or Scorpio of the time but in recent years things seem to have slipped back again.

So did Opel go with Vauxhall to France as well or is it independent now?
Opel And Vauxhall both owned by PSA. When I started my business 21 years ago Vauxhall was 95% of the work we did.
Luckily by 2019 it was about 3% when they were bought over.
