Yup. F1 is switching to E10 in 2022 and they will continue to drive R&D into synthetic fuels

Seems like a nice solution for big engined weekend cars. There will still be zero tailpipe emissions zones in all towns and cities though IMHO. I wonder if you will be able to apply for a licence to buy, say, 1000 litres of this stuff a year?

Biology implies needing to grow something doesn’t it? If so, how can we justify turning over farmland for fuel when we can’t even grow enough to feed ourselves?

We can and easily do grow enough to feed ourselves. People don't starve because there isn't enough food. Or do you mean only in England?

But there are non-food crops which will grow where food crops won't and bacteria that grow in tanks....

Well it will be interesting if it works with existing engines. I’ll presume you wouldn’t want to live downwind of the manufacturing plant...

Most of them produce very little in terms of off gas apart from, maybe CO2. Which is the same Carbon which was captured to create the biomass.

Porsche will employ Mobil tech. under license. Which was patented and more or less parked on a shelf in the mid 80s. Viable operations have used MTG previously though. Expect more to do so as political climate dictates.

Surprised it's taken this long for something like this to appear, synthetic oils have been around ages after all
