How long can you leave a 4200 without driving it before you get battery problems?

Hi,

From the number of threads on here about flat batteries it would appear that this is a bit of an issue.

Obviously chekcing that the Tracker is disconnected will help battery life, but beyond that what duration are people generally getting? I won't be able to use a battery conditioner as I won't have a power point.

I have thought about using the battery isolator switch. But its been said that you need to leave the windows down 1-2inches which, when parked on a road, is probably not the best idea both for reasons of safety and weather.

Thanks

I tend to get around 4 weeks with mine , althi i did have a new battery last year , and my tracker is disconnected , it is possible to leave the battery isolated without leaving the window down , just make sure your boot lock is well oiled , then shut all the doors open the boot by the key ( not the button ) isolate the battery and re lock the car manually by the key in the door lock , when you need to gain re-entry you must open the boot with the key turn on the isolator which in turn will operaste the window sequence when you open the door, but do make sure the boot lock is well oiled they tend to semi seize up if continually opened by the button

2 weeks is the longest I leave it.

I've had my tracker ripped out recently, which should help.

Longest I've gone is about 8 weeks but I did put a to notch battery on it shortly after I got it in 2010.

Agree with Loz about going through the boot manually = leaving the windows raised... Works for me although I am garaged & I could leave it all unlocked I just don't!

This lets me leave my 3200 outside and unloved - I've only tried it for a fortnight but it certainly helps compared to not using it - the battery is perkier on first startup after a fortnight than it is just leaving it overnight with no charger

I just plug it into the cigarette lighter and leave it on top of the dashboard. One of the better £10 I've spent although the 3200 doesn't have many goodies to drain the battery, just alarm, immobiliser, radio, clock etc..
