How many made or left ?

As a recent purchaser of a 4200 GT (6 Speed Manual) I am curios as to how many were made or even left on the roads ?

I have gone to the How Many Left ? website but that does not split the Flappy Paddle 4200`s from the Manuals.

As these cars get older I am worried about spare parts for the Manual Vehicles, I mean a new gear knob for my car is over £800 o_O

Rumor has it they share the same basic gear boxes as the 4200 CC ?

I did not actively seek out a Manual but its was a deal I could not resist !

Any information be appreciated

Yea but no manuals and no RHD's on that list!

Dave

There's is Dave, the Coupe GT is the manual version and it is listed as 1078 in number. I have seen this number listed before. Having one myself, I have done a wee bit of research.

Cool thanks for the information  works out at 180 built a year over a 6 year period, not many is it ?

I just hope they keep making parts for them, if not will have to do some research into what other parts are compatible ;)

Cheers Geo, but how many of those 1078 vehicle's produced were RHD, I bet not many!

There were less than 10 facelift manual 4200's in the UK. I'd wager that out of the 1078 worldwide there were only about 200 made for the RHD market.

The how many left website does split them, as others have said, Coupe GT and Coupe Cambiocorsa

Here are the links:
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/maserati_coupe_cambiocorsa
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/maserati_coupe_gt

So, for the manual, 121 licenced (as in taxed) in Q1 2018, and 33 SORN.

If you look at the graph:
The number registered in 2003 Q4 is 93.
The number registered in 2004 Q4 is 145.
The final peak is 186 registered by 2006.
I don't know when the facelift started, but it was sometime in 2004 so the total number of UK manual facelifts is somewhere between 41 and 93

Mine was registered Sept 2004.

Oh, and the gearbox may be the same (with added leavers for the automation I suppose) but the clutch is a different part. There was a thread on there about it recently where a member had 1 of each clutch and wasn't sure which was which.

I have a 2002 Spyder GT 6 speed manual, and decently had to change the entire gearbox. I can confirm the CC and manual gearboxes are identical with the identical part number - although the clutches are different as are the means of changing gears. So if you ever need a manual gearbox, the CC gearbox will be fine mechanically.

Dave as Chris has posted it would appear that there were not many RHD cars made, but exactly how many I have no idea. The numbers from the "how many are left" website are a bit questionable although probably not too inaccurate.

The reason I say this is my own car was registered as a CC and to correct the error, I had to get a letter of authenticity from Maserati in Italy. I was impressed by the speed in which they handled my request, even speaking to me on the phone from Italy to discuss the matter.

Japan and the other Far East markets tend to prefer autos from what I’ve seen. Many Alfa 156 and 147 GTAs use a Selespeed system. Not the same rather... tricky... system as the Twin Sparks but one largely based on a Ferrari/Maserati setup IIRC. Most of the Masers that have come back from Japan tend to be autos, and haven’t sold since they landed.

No. How many left figures are based on UK registrations only, so 41-93 RHD manual facelifts were registered in the UK.
As Geo has pointed out, the How Many Left website has been brought into question a few times, but most of that seemed to be mis-registered cars (his included)
According to the website, a total of 186 manuals were registered.

The 1078 number quoted above has been mentioned a few times (potentially from the same source?) as the overall total of worldwide manuals.
I don't know how many would end up elsewhere, nor what the appetite is/was for manual cars in the other RHD markets, but 186 seems quite high (for the size of the UK) imo, but then a Maserati is a luxury car, and the CC was pushed as the main gearbox, so Japan, Aus and the Far East may well have not spec'd that many manuals.

Whilst interesting, I wouldnt personally be betting my bottom dollar against those numbers....
If you want to know- ask Maserati !
