Well, I asked Maserati for some clarity on numbers, directly related to manual 4200's as that's what i've got.

The response was as follows:-

Thank you for contacting Maserati and, please, accept our apologies for the timing of this reply.

Please find below the details you requested.

- Number of GT Coupes imported into the UK: 878

- Number of RHD GT Coupes imported into the UK: 877

- Number of Blu Nettuno GT Coupes imported into the UK: 122

- Number of GT Coupes manufactured (worldwide): 6.528

It would apprear, perhaps unsurprisingly, the the majority of RHD GT Coupes made were inported into the UK (877 of the 1078 manufactured).

I didn't ask how many are facelift models which i will go back and ask as well.

Are you saying that 878 were manuals into the UK...?

I think so @TimR but it does not make sense... this:

- Number of GT Coupes manufactured (worldwide): 6.528

Does not add up with this:

https://www.sportsmaserati.com/inde...fc87b-941f-4c01-8f5c-0ba60f9dde28-jpeg.50994/

That suggests that there is only a handful of Cambiocorsa surely?

Perhaps it would make more sense if Maserati sent the number of manuals vs CC to make sense of the figures...?

The post also states:
It would apprear, perhaps unsurprisingly, the the majority of RHD GT Coupes made were inported into the UK (877 of the 1078 manufactured).

Note the 1078 is shared in the post there, and the existing image

I suspect 'GT' shouldn't be in the line you've quoted especially since 6,528 seems very close to the 6,449 total Coupes in that image.

So, 6.5k Coupes.
1078 of which manual.
877 of which RHD and in the UK.
122 Blu Nettuno.

Makes more sense but seems like a high percentage of global manual sales were made in the UK

I agree, on reflection, the total number of 6528 likely relates to the total of 4200's manufactured wordlwide. I just cut and pasted what Maserati told me in an email.

I've heard it banded about that 13 - 15% of 42's where GT's and the rest CC. And I'm not sure if that was in the UK or world wide.

Regarding the high percentage of manuals in the UK, remember these are RHD cars.

The Japanese like their exotics to be appropriate-hand-drive for the country of origin, hence we LHD Japanese import Maserati, so we're left with...
UK
Australia
New Zealand
South Africa
Singapore
Thailand
Hong Kong
...

I don't know much about these countries, but I don't think it's that much of a long shot to think the UK might well have a larger bias towards manual cars

Thanks David...........It would be nice to have that one confirmed!
Well, I asked about number of UK imported RHD GT Coupes and the confused response from Maserati was:-

“‘The number of facelift RHD GT Coupes imported to the UK, denominated GranSport, were 368”

Not sure therefore whether this number refers to GranSports imported or the number of facelift manuals. I suspect the former.
