Nice to see the fault Chris.
Hope it hasn't cost a fortune to put right.
The only way you get to the bottom of issues like these is removing and inspecting components.
Glad she's back on the road.

Depends how much I can claw back on other stuff. Minimum £1k for the replacement turbo and labour, which I'm OK with. If we add in the bits we "didn't need", and the labour about another £400
So actually whichever way you cut it, it's OK

So around 200 miles tested and I'm pretty cool calling it fixed.

Diagnosis for anyone else looking at this issue: Get your hand down to the wastegate pivot that runs through the bushing on the exhaust manifold (on a cold engine) If it's flapping around, it's quite possibly the cause of all sorts of issues.
