whats the glass all about

Put the sand paper on the glass and rub the bit you want to flat on the paper. Without spending a couple of hundred quid on a surface plate it’s about the truest flat you can find, certainly around the house. I’m surprised you’ve not heard of doing it.

must admit never heard that one, don't think i've needed to flat anything for a couple of decades but if memory serves me right i probably just fudged it with flat steel plate instead of glass

Most plate is milled so actually has a slight curve too it. It probably doesn’t make any difference but it’s the way I was taught.

The welders at work have straight edges (looks like a heavy ruler) that cost £200 and are calibrated weekly.

Couldn’t get the new thermostat housing to seal so back to the original, fingers crossed the raised expansion tank will be enough to cover the thermostat and temp sensor all the time.

All brackets made up to mount the plexi window to the inner door skin and bolted in on the passenger side with a bit of swearing! Good bit lighter than the standard glass and all the mechanism is gone too.

So on the advice of someone on YouTube (coz that always works well) I’ve drilled, chipped and repaired the windscreen in front of the crack to stop it spreading. Basically a stone chip to act as an end point 95696
