Increasing compression on 2.24v

Hi,

I was hoping to add a bit more compression to the engine. Easiest thing to do would be to shave the cylinder heads.
Has anyone here done that? I'm wondering is there any space to do that, as the pistons have indents for valves..

@spacecadet had his skimmed to level them but I think he mentioned there’s a quite small maintenance limit that means you may not be able to take a useful amount off. No idea on piston to valve clearance.

Increase boost? Won’t give you anything off boost but it’s a **** sight simpler

Oh, the reason for more compression is to get mode low-rpm torque, can't do that with boost.. :)

I have the heads at machine shop at the moment, so this would be cheap thing to do atm if possible.

Since the heads are off, and you'll have to get new gaskets anyway, look into a set of custom gaskets that have a smaller compressed thickness.
There's not a lot of meat on biturbo head decks to start with, and I would be wary of taking any more than necessary to make them flat.

Hi, thanks for response!
Well in the real life gaskets are also hard to come by. Navalineasport is the place to get gasket sets. Sergio in https://www.autoepoca.it/ will sell you a set.

I cannot even imagine a more custom head gasket!!!

I'm thinking maybe 0.5mm is ok - hard to measure.
