Insurance/Service time again

My car is due it's service and insurance renewal next month. The insurance wasn't bad at £400 with limited mileage and 500 excess. The service however a bit of a shock at nearly a thousand for the fifth year.
Also I am wondering about warranty. I had taken out the Maserati extended warranty for the fourth and fifth year which will be coming to an end. To stick with Maserati it will cost a further £2000 a year and that will only cover engine and transmission. Given my very low mileage - 15000 in almost five years, that would seem pointless, whilst independent companies want around half that.
Any opinions on whether it would be worth going with another warranty or with my low mileage risk going without?

Are you using main dealer or independent for your service as there could be a saving right away.
I think the decision might depend on what work you have had done already, if the common failures have
already been addressed that would affect my decision on going for a warranty.

Well apart from an issue with the optional incar WiFi, the car has been very reliable with no major issues. About the only ongoing issues is with the external temp display being slow to change, very occasionally the climate control in hot weather not responding, and finally, maybe once a year, the audio for everything packing up. All these issues are sorted by a disconnect and reconnect of the battery. I can honestly say, and I'm probably tempting fate, this about the most reliable car I have owned, easily eclipsing eight or nine Jaguars over the twenty years I owned them prior to switching to the Maserati!
Perhaps this is why, in conjunction with the way it drives, after five years I am quite happy not to change.
I have always stuck with main dealer s such as Joe Macari and recently for the WiFi issue HR Owen, who are also very good.
I even have to say Maserati Customer Service who I involved in the WiFi saga (and from what I understand I am about the only person to have ever specced it at the time of order), who along with HR Owen dealt with the issue very fairly.

I stuck with the MD servicing on my now ex Ghibli right up until the last service I got done (at 100k miles). On selling it I really dont think it made a great deal of difference (if any at all) on the price. All he said was as long as it is serviced by a reputable garage (preferably a specialist) then it wont make any difference. I reckon I paid about £5.5k on routine servicing overall
If I were you I would find a local indy with a good reputation.

Mine was MD serviced for the first 3 years of its life, I then took it to SportsItalia and saved quite a bit in costs.

the MD experience is distinctly variable in my experience.
For my car I would use the company best deserving my custom, which would tend to be a good local independent or MD if they competed in price. For me this still means Sports Italia who are almost 2 hours away.
Our leased levante service had to be MD, so chose the least worst for customer service. Brief feedback on my attempt to book the second £1000 service
  1. total apathy - transferred to service who explained they finish Maserati at the end of the month. No taking bookings.
  2. "* honda", <me , asking for service> Oh you've come through to sales!(spoken as if she trod in sh!t) , want me to transfer you. Service staff barely interested, can almost picture the brown dustcoat and Huge tea mug. booked service with a sigh.
  3. Left it to Anna to go back top supplying dealer. number 2 above barely batted an eyelid when I cancelled 5 minutes after.
Co-incidentally needed part for the QP which I hope to collect when Levante was serviced. Call Ross and got the service expected. Friendly (sales?) person answered the phone. They knew Ross as if he were part of their team and got him to call back. Part arrived the next day. Why didn't I just call them first?
I seem to be asking for a lot, but liken the experience to a decent restaurant where I am treated well from arrival until departure. Any brand is tainted for me when I interact with poor service.

My car also has full Maserati Dealer Service History. I am getting my cars first service under my ownership this week at the Maserati Dealer. The Maserati Dealer in Switzerland have said the price is 1497.77 CHF (1279.98 pounds) to service my 2015 QP GTS. (32,000kms) (19,800 miles) currently. Not sure if its worth it but I am maintaining the Maserati Dealer Service History.

My GTS is £350 with Admiral.
Just bought the wife a matching Ghibli Gransport Nerissimo and its £800!
We are both insured on both and she drives the GTS more than me.
Where they make these figures up ill never know.

To be fair they gave us £75 back for the 3 cars I have with them due to lack of use. My other cars are with LVE and they didn’t do anything.
Just shame they have come in so high for us this time.
We have a E class 3.0 V6 Convertible my daughter is having but she only has one year no claims so waiting till August so she has 2.
They quoted her £1150 which is only £350 more than my wife for the Ghibli and she’s been driving 20 years...
