My wife and I had been with A-Plan for a while but left because we were fed up with excessive annual renewal increases and games played by staff who seemed not to recognise the term 'customer service'; I also hate their daily phone calls and texts come renewal time, and it is unlikely that we will ever go back to them. A recent online quote from Admiral was over £1300 for the QP and daily driver on a multicar policy.

We're now with NFU who seem very user friendly and charged £350 less than Admiral.

Car insurance has always been a mucky business, but some firms don't seem to know where to draw the line. Thus far NFU ticks the 'customer service' box, and unless they screw up we'll stay with them.

insurance quotations is a real minefield, I think it totally depends on whether a company wants/needs the business badly enough at time of getting quote, there's no rhyme or rhythm to it at all :banghead2:

My insurance renewal came through from Admiral. £970 for the two cars. Tried on GoCompare and saved about £100. Phoned Admiral and saved... £370. Go figure!

My QP including Class 1 business use with 10,000 business miles, parked on the road! is £450odd Esure with like for like Courtesy car, protected no claims, etc - insurance is strange - the cost was the same as the oil burning Alfa!

Just looked at the post code thing... how can Clacton and Colchester Greensted - murder capitals of essex! be lower risk than a town with no crime, and where the highest speed is 40 mph!

My Vantage is £100 cheaper to insure. Quite a low excess as well. Bloody dark art, insurance!

Dead people don't steal cars. The more of 'em get murdered, the less car crime there is.

AIB offer U.K. insurance then...? Looks like an Irish insurer?

Based in my home town of Eastleigh, Hampshire. Give them a call, try and speak to Darren and mention this forum for a health discount.

Oh wow - I am getting screwed. I used to pay £1k for my GT alone.
I am now on £2.7k for my F430, M3 and VW Touareg... I think it’s about £800 a car or so... reallygetting screwed... despite shopping around.
I am 39 w 10yr no claim (previously out of the country)... I live right outside the M25...
I need to research what I am doing wrong !

This is for a motor trade policy though so I doubt you would qualify. I have quite a few movements in/out often enough to qualify as a part time motor trader.

Best not to talk about insurance.

Last year my GTS cost me £1435 to insure with a max mileage of 4000 miles.
