Interior lights when ignition turned to off (GTS)

I have a small thing that's bugging me.. so when I unlock my car, the interior lights will come on, which is nice as in the dark I can see what I'm doing for a few seconds before the lights fade out.

But.. when I park the car up and turn off the ignition, the lights do not come on - which is really annoying at night time as my drive is not illuminated so I can barely see anything.

I checked the manual but no setting I could see to adjust.

So is this standard on the GranTurismo - the interior lights don't come one for convenience when ignition is switched off??? Hoping I have overlooked something silly!!

I thought the GT had follow me home lights by pulling the light stalk when you turn off. Can't find it in the manual, though.

Not sure about the interior lights, other than they should come on when you open the door, at least?

Yes you're right about the follow me home and indeed the interior lights do come on when a door is opened.

But I think most cars turn on the interior light when engine is switched off.. will check the wife's Guilietta!

More modern ones, for sure. But don't forget your GT design is getting on for 20 years old.....

Haha yes true, but I am sure even my 1983 VW Polo had this feature.
Just confirmed that wife's Guilietta does work this way.. ah well possibly age of design and Italian 'flair' from the Maserati minds!

I know that this is an edge case and an insignificant irritation in the grand scheme of things, but if you are setting down a passenger at night, the interior lights come on when the door is opened, and then there is a delay to the lights going off, after the door is closed. This means that the lights are on inside when I'm trying to drive away which is not good for night vision, so I generally have to wait a short time for the lights to go out first.
Not sure what logic would have to be implemented to solve this one though!
