Maserati have hardly made anything for a long time that is anything other than a prestige car, certainly not supercars. That's fine though as they all offer something different in the space that they sit in.

Wouldn’t you say the only super car Maserati has made for years and years would have been the MC12....

As was

Some debatable content there, depending on the definition of 'supercar' even in those days. Maybe Nathan could turn his mind to an update in between issues of Strada.

I'm not sure Maserati have ever produced a 'Super Car' to be fair. A number of great GTs back in the 50s-70s and some cracking sports cars over the same time period.

Things went stale in the 80s and early 90s with the occasional rough diamond, but back to the good GTs and odd sports cars in the late 90s to date.

Present offering are just sporty saloons and SUVs... unti the MC s come out.
MC20?.

I have the same book!!!
I nicked the images from 'tinternet although I do have a copy somewhere; I bought it from the now-defunct WH Smith Motoring Book Club too many moons ago to count ;)

The 'supercar' tag as opposed to 'super car' is an interesting one, and I suspect that views have changed over the years. IIRC even the Lotus Carlton was once accorded that honour despite being a 4 seat barge, and if it now has to be 2 seater only then the McLaren F1 is out as is the Speedtail. Then there is the the thorny question of supercars v hypercars; do we differentiate by 0-60 time, top speed, bhp, or even price?

Perhaps the definition is simply 'the poster car you had on your wall as a kid'.

Its VERY subjective, but I'm pretty happy with some of the definitions quoted on Wikipedia:
Two-seat cars with 8-12 cylinders and at least 400 bhp and a top speed of at least 180 mph. Plus sporting handling, sleek, eye-catching and expensive.

2 seater strad! I like the definition. Although would be embarrassed around my mates to try to use that moniker for my "GT".

Its a Ferrari underneath, but I will concede that one... but only that one.
The MC20 "a Ferrari underneath"?? Surely, you mean the MC12, but even that one differs substantially from its Enzo "cousin" regarding engine and suspension, in addition to dimensions and bodywork...
