Signed the order for a Stradale. Delivery later this year.

Nero Carbonio with black leather/alcantara/red stitching and light grey headlining. Original Stradale graphite wheels and yellow calipers, and before anyone says red stitching and yellow calipers don't match, I don't give a rat's ***, it's my car and I want red and yellow!!! <sticks tongue out>

So if anyone is interested, my GT-S MC Shift 4.7 will be for sale anytime from now. I'll post a proper advert up soon.

Good man, Yeti!

Dare I ask, was your friendly local dealer willing to do you a decent deal on the 4-seat Strad? I'm not after the numbers, just an indication of whether they are keen to shift 'em or if demand is high enough that they're not willing to move much on price.

I used Graypaul and was very pleased with the deal. Am not trading in though, so perhaps a bit more leeway. I definitely did not get the impression they were desperate to shift Strad's. Mine is a new order, so not a stock car. What I did learn is that there are very few 4 seat Strads around - I think they said only about 30, so it will always be a fairly rare car, and given that not only the Alfieri but also the new Granturismo is likely to be a pitiful V6 twin turbo, I reckon they will be a keeper. I certainly don;t intend selling the Strad, it will see me out. We are most likely going to be the last generation that can but these big V8's. Our kids will have to put up with stupid cars like the i8 and the like. Technically competent, but with all the excitement of a wet week in Bridlington

That looks like the way engines are going to go, F1 as an example, doing all the testing for future road engine design. I suppose we could build a library of V8 sounds and flog them on to the punters to put through their 1000 watt sound systems when they have a pitiful engine noise to cope with..!!

Fully agree with the V8 comments. Even if the new GranTurismo (2018?) has a V8 it will have turbos and will not be the same.

Yes, yes, and thrice yes.

Oh, and thanks for the comments on flexibility. I'm not surprised, it's a cracking car. Good colour choice, by the way. Classy. These cars suit shades of grey / silver, I reckon (I would say that, but I also believe it!)

+1 to that! While I think that they (Maserati) will do a fine job of getting a good sound out of a V6 or V8 with turbos, just look at the Ghibli for an example of that, I don't think it will ever be a match for the unfiltered sound of the N/A V8s, and I feel will always be a compromise of sorts. That's why my Strad is going to be a keeper, I don't think I will find anything of similar price with a better sound (which is very important for my ownership experience and driving pleasure), and thanks to Noor at Torenno, it is even better now!! :)
