Hi UM, I haven't tried this product, so I can't 'speak' with any authority, but I suspect it's okay on solid colours but pretty cr@p on metallics. That said with due care and attention it has to be better than nothing, and if regarded as a temporary improvement pending re-spray, it has to be worth further investigation. As I have a front bumper that looks like a teenager on heat I'm happy to act as guinea-pig and can post photo's if you like. Mine will be in for re-spray in the not too distant so there'll be no damage done.

Haven't tried this particular product UM, looks ok in the video...
I guess it is pretty much the same as any touch-up paint,
I think the fine brush being used and the fact that he is just filling in the chip,
rather than trying to blend the paint is why it looks good,
Regards,
Enzo.

If there is anyone here who has experience with any particular product please post. Stone chips seems to be the curse for Maserati owners

I've just ordered Kit one with the option of the detail brush, so we'll see. I've checked the car front (depressing) and the headlight washer covers are both equally peppered, so these will be a very easy way to compare before and after before embarking on the rest of the front end. The kit'll probably turn up early next week, so I'll try and get me ducks in a row to do this next weekend. I'll keep you posted!

Good stuff Miles,
Be interesting to see the results...
I ordered the dr colorchip kit from the USA and have tried a couple of times to get decent results,
but I cannot say I have been able to get anything like the pictures/videos or website show!
no miracle cure as Matt said.
Regards,
Enzo.

I suspect you're right Enzo, and I'm not holding my breath with this product either, but to be honest even a modest cosmetic improvement to mine will be a step forward. Driving it everyday really does hammer the paintwork. I'll be interested to see how closely they can match the Grigio Nuvolari to begin with!

You're right Miles...I keep looking at the impact area just in front of my rear wheels and feel like crying,
anything would be an improvement..although I have found that the oversize front mud flaps I bought have made a difference in reducing the number of chips I get,

Enzo.

Okay the kit has arrived and it looks like a pretty scrawny offering, but I won't judge it by it's presentation, however...

When I popped into Shiltech to chat about my oil pressure Geoff had a 3200 in that had been detailed by someone just around the corner from me. It looked stunning, particularly as Geoff said that it had arrived in a pretty sorry state. As "in a pretty sorry state" is the perfect description for my car also I paid him a visit earlier this evening.

Young fella but has spent a decade in the industry and is evidently knowledgeable and skilled. He's taken the big step of starting his own business and is trading his way on hard work and a growing network of contacts and recommendations. He was working on a bike for a client when I got there.

So after looking around my car we've agreed an 'improvement program' beginning with wheels and arches and engine bay. A days work to take place a week on Sunday (yes he's working Sunday)

Shortly after that he's going to turn his attention to the bodywork and he's advised me to leave the car alone for the moment. Let him do what he can do, and then see how everything looks. Anything he can't sort, it's my choice as to whether to try and touch it up. Alternatively he will do what he can, which he does with a cocktail stick!

After that it's the interior.

Once he's done everything he can, he's going to put together a schedule for weekly/monthy/quarterly maintenance.

Really pleased I gave him half an hour of my time, but as a result, any thoughts and comments on the kit will be delayed. I will at least paint out a small patch to see whether they at least matched the Grigio Nuvolari accurately.
