UNAVAILABLE #19 - 386100025 for LHS. I have the right hand side one, for some reason missing the left? I don't get having one and not the other? Or is that how it's supposed to be. Can't make my mind up about this really... anyone? I'll order 20 if needbe

There is only 1 fitted, R/H for RHD and L/H for LHD, I think anyways.

Interesting... one of the few items that should be symmetrical but isn't? Thought it might be to protect from dirt/debris so the boots don't get damaged.. silly to have it on one side and not the other. Must be a valid reason

ORDERED #1 - 97470, so can get the rocker covers off and resprayed to look fresh again,
ORDERED #2 - 14454080 also for the cover to make sure each spark plug hole gets sealed properly.
ORDERED #10 - 313720321, only ordered 8 mainly for the fuel rail that's hurt the most. Will pressure test and see how that goes if will need a new rail or not
ORDERED #11 - 14459081, refresh as they are rock hard... gasket sealant is not the solution to old crusty rubbers
ORDERED #16 - 14454380, also refresh as these were caked on..
ORDERED #17 - 585411203, looked fresh but no matter, better replace and be safe than sorry
88475
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #9 - 479008001 union piece, one is semi burnt and the other is all happy.
88476
ORDERED #12 - 479040900 oil filter of course
UNAVAILABLE #36 - 97762, thought I might split the radiator and drain it. not doing that anytime soon I don't think. will raise it and let it all drain into the sump
88477
ORDERED #1 - 585089700 knock sensor as most of this one just burnt to a crisp.. I hope it's not #27 because I haven't seen it/missed it completely
ORDERED #8 - 300100803 rubber tube, ordered 3m hopefully should work for all the burnt hoses.
ORDERED #9 - 97218 also 3m of the corrugated tubing to fit onto these hoses
The absolute pressure sensors are coming with the new loom, so hopefully they are fine, just have one ok one and one that's 70% burnt
88478
ORDERED #1 - 383010153 for 33£ it's not worth fixing the mostly crisp loom honestly
ORDERED #2 - 383700168 I HOPE... I just realised there are 4 variations... OH MY.. fingers crossed lmao
ORDERED #4 - 384300378 as the current cap is slightly warped from the intense fire
88479
ORDERED #1 - 373330178 cover is melted only slightly, might leave it for now and see if the electronics/relays are gone. not too bad to access
88480
Need to still find #7 in decent condition and not for 165£ each when I can buy a set of 8 for $600aud...
ORDERED #19 - 97084 to replace
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #24 - 379200408, I need this one and a tonne more that sit on the back wall.. Most are just melty
Will create a custom run of #26 and #27 so that there will never be another fuel fire happening here again.
88481
This one is tricky..
ORDERED #1 - 10187090 Just a clamp will use for 3 as that is unavailable :p
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #2 - 585369700, mine still holds on, just by the internal material, which you can see... will explode so need a new one
88482
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #9 - 585042560, charred at the firewall, didn't check if it's passable or not..
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #12 - 585042260, this one is ok condition, just the one under it has charred a bit..
ORDERED #37 - 384000102, hope it's in OK condition, will see..
Should I replace #38 and #39 while I have stuff out and disconnected?
88486
ORDERED #6 - 374830120, both perished completely.. Anything else to replace? Will see how much is left on this clutch tomorrow

ONE MORE, honestly good I went through these again as I have realised few more bits I'd like/need to do this all properly

UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #3 - 387400314, Mine is ok except silly me cut it in half thinking it was burnt... Union and clamps it is!
ORDERED #4 - 13000390, More clamps to fix it all up lol
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #6 - 377493347... I've read that the VW one can be used too, although I believe that the nipple sizes won't fit without reducers.
ORDERED #7 - 387400315, which is good atleast one part
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #9 - 387410316, which is half burnt.. I have the funky 180 degree part and the majority running to the diaphragm, just need a short piece between and some unions to make it work. It feels like extra reinforced silicone tubing, nothing too fancy I hope...
88488
ORDERED #19 - 387410104 and I hope this is correct too, overpaid for this part from Germany compared to Eurospares... Oh well. Win some, lose some
88489
#24 and #26 are the same trim as for the other bits, so have that already
What I have broken are
ORDERED #21 - 187713 the clips that hold some of this tubing
88490
UNAVAILABLE ORDERED #3 - 67293500 upper frame.. Mine is all tacky and slightly in a few pieces. Can be put back together and glued here and there, but it'll never be perfect :/ oh well
88492
ORDERED #11 - 388300240 of course these die.. OR, are they really pointless? Like it stood up whenever lifted, Hard to put down? Will see
88493
UNAVAILABLE #9 - 389910503 Black mats, which I believe would suit the floor, given it has no mats in it... Can't find any aftermarket solution, might get some custom made at this stage really...
88494
ORDERED #1 - 388300605 for the LHS as the exisiting one has broken tabs and no clips to hold it in. The botched JBL speaker install really didn't help really...
ORDERED #12 - 14188181 retainer clips as some were worse for wear. Want it all back on proper and not to go anywhere
88495
ORDERED #1 - 382400304, basic replacement whilst everything is apart. also #8 and 9 have a slight bit of coolant under them on the carpet.. that shouldn't be

Special things, which I have no idea if they work or are useful
rear view mirror(388100145) - solar sensor(060663086) - Microwave sensor(383300246)
Something to get or? Just like the Bilstein Module(383900104) and the Ferrari 355 shock tower adjusters. Cables are there just the expensive bits are missing lol

AND ALSO UNAVAILABLE; 50A Relay for "Air Pump"?? No idea, also was melty - 383700138
*Edit, Fuel filter also added to list - 152212.

That's all for the moment, honestly it's not a lot when you consider how bad it could have been... Stuff got hot, but not enough to destroy more; I hope...

Right so I recon I have all or at least most of your unavailable parts.
Drop me a message with the list of unavailable parts and we’ll go from there.

Luckily it seems that most of your missing burnt parts aren’t too sort after.

Certainly a brave proposition to do a 3200 as DIY because of the difficultly sourcing parts and the finicky nature of its engine.

By the way a lot of these interior parts can be sourced from a 4200, like the upper dash frame. Likewise for the floormats I remember someone getting brand new ones from a UK Ferrari/Maserati dealer.

Lots of suspension parts are the same as the 4200.

Great work. I may have missed it but has there been any mention of end float checks yet?

I must say I don't think i would have taken this on sir. good luck to you.
Thank you! I never thought I'd take it on either, until it was in my driveway looking so sad. Take a crack at it and what's the worse that can happen? CAR EXPLODES oh maybe that hahahaha

I honestly don't think it's as bad as some other cars where the parts never end. Yeah there are some fiddly bits here and there, but it's honestly not that bad. Here they are fairly straight forward and well.. Somewhat existent. Requires minimum bodywork, more of a respray and really, just a lot of time and effort cleaning up the mess the fire extinguisher has done. I don't think I've sworn at the car yet. Maybe been a little frustrated figuring something out, but it hasn't given me much grief. Everything was removable at a reasonable level.
Given the car has a clean title, it'll not be as pesky to get it road registered like one with a title as I have discovered last year.. Lesson learnt there honestly

And yes, have noticed they continued the trend with the beautiful and simple dash when I was doing research. Thank you anyway for that all! :D

Thank you!! I am definitely yet to make sure as you'll be about to see, very good pointer given the extent the car's apart at this given moment. Need to release the belts and drop the gearbox, hopefully to notice something without having the entire bottom end off.

So for today, as I mentioned. Engine out and that was the task!
88513
Start of the day with a handful of things left to do. Shifter was still connected to the box, so were the brake lines and abs sensors. Completely removed the swaybar and prepared everything to be removed and dropped. Was a slow day, but got most of the way there. Car went backwards a little to make some room for the engine and all to come forward. But anyway, plan is that once it's out, gearbox off and hopefully can get it up onto a engine stand and reinstall the subframe back in so the car can be moved out to get washed out.
8851888519
That's pretty much the end of the day, almost had it out, but maximised the jackstands entirely, so will figure out something out. Probably few pieces of hardwood will do! The fire retardant powder didn't help disconnecting the steering rack as it was jammed in and an absolute nightmare which got stuck in multiple stages.

Not that bad in terms of the damage, just need all the plastic clips that go on that back wall and one on the top of the ABS module. Got to wash off and clean everything up though. Leave that to my father to slowly do during the week given the engine comes out.
Next weekend is to play chop and crimp the melted accessories cable and the lambda sensor; getting rid of the feeler cable and allowing it to plug directly into the engine loom. unless there is a mounting spot for this feeler cable section.

88520
Question for you all! Is that hardline supposed to be like this, all wonky? It seems right given the clip in the middle, although it wasn't even clipped on.. Given the paint on it is peeling.. No way it melted.
Will do a vacuum test of the AC system to see if that hose up the back there is ok.

That's pretty much all for today, lots of cleaning to do :p

Spotted a 3200GT wreck at ASV Euro Car Parts which has the bonnet louvre inserts intact. Car is actually in Adelaide according to the website. Lots of other stuff going begging.

some real good progress there, nice to see you're using your best beach towels ;)
For the three weeks of owning, I think so too hahaha! and yes the towels have been in use since day 1, just because everyone leans in.. Need to buy two proper mats, usually I don't lean in much for the Polos I work on, not used to such a large engine bay that's for sure!

I first sent an inquiry via their website. No response so after a few days I called them up.
I asked for the car and they told me.
"Sorry we don't see any car like this in stock.. how did you say you came across this item"
How come? It's on your website guys.
"We will look into this, any other info from it like a stock number?"
I give them the stock number as I read it from the site.
"Yeah no this is weird, we don't know. Don't have this car in any of our systems."
HOW DO YOU HAVE IT ON YOUR WEBSITE AND NOT ANYWHERE ELSE?!?!?!?! google search it and tell me what from there...
Might call them again and ask if they could locate the vehicle under their own nose :) lol

Thank you! Always hope that some enjoy the read or there is some new insight/thought for something better :)
This is what I've finally collated, might help someone else too

Hope this is all, would appreciate feedback on it :p

Ok... Great to know, even though he does have some bits I'd be after hahaha. Will stay away! Thank you for that

I'll do a full parts list post tomorrow and where I'm currently at with it (engine out Monday morning).
Still chasing like the RHS bonnet vent, the large black plastic dash aircon piece which was cracked(and I made it a tad worse...(worst case, glue it together and call it a day really :saifi4:)) and swaybar/stabiliser links for both sides, eurospares says they're MAYBE available 12th week of next year so... Nope can do
Thanks for the list it’s going to be really useful

You will need to disconnect the shifter. If there’s any play in it you want to sort bushes are much easier to do out of the car. Got mine from BMW as it’s a Getrag box.
I bought (modified) gearbox mount from item

143921637673
Ebay. Includes the support bracket ready fitted with bigger bushes used by BMW on same Getrag manual gearbox.

It's all over the place hey :saifi4:
Think in the drive link I posted earlier has all the parts and their associated numbers, given they haven't been superseded. Thankfully up till now it's been all possible, I'm pretty much just missing a RHS bonnet vent given everything else arrives in the next month or two!
Sources:
Big Thank You to madmanmart for all the other little bits and bobs
Eurospares for whatever they had in stock
Superformancemaserati for the fuel filter, swaybar links and the two coolant hoses that run down the rear of the engine. Already received this parcel!
And Ebay for the few bits and pieces which are yet to arrive.. Stuck in Frankfurt still :/ oh well.

OOh, I see! Would definitely be a good idea, although I've ordered some new stock ones from Italy so should be fine. I think they'd be ok until they degrade/break down like the last ones that just fell apart as soon as I disconnected the bracket.
I'd probably make my own if they do end up leaving, I doubt that'd be too difficult seeing they have a single locating hole on each side of the grommet.

Anyway, had a super busy weekend, and got a few things done with the Maserati while at it
8880388811
So the engine finally got pushed out last Friday morning. We then proceeded to get the Gearbox off with the thrust bearing giving some grief. Once that was off, I went to work lol
88810
index.php
88814
Friday evening, got back and started figuring out how to mount this up on a stand I bought, hopefully so we can wheel it around and work on it without the subframe. Got the Clutch and flywheel off and mounted the frame to hold the engine up. Rear main seal looking perfect(coolant might fool you)
Once that was done, Saturday morning, jacked everything up and got it onto the engine stand! Released the Subframe and dropped it down, rolling it all out to get washed and cleaned up before being put back into the car.
8881588816
As for the engine, well it started getting disassembled to get cleaned. So yesterday we had to swap the wheels on the stand over to some rubber ones, as well as drop the clutch and flywheel off to TradeBrake&Clutch to see what they can do about it, whether it gets resurfaced and new material gets pressed onto the disk, or buy a brand new kit. Eurospares has one for 425£ so if they ask for lot more than that, will order from there, or anyone else have any suggestions? Think MRichards mentioned a "ZF" clutch kit from Adelaide :p
8881788819

Anyway, today got the engine cleaned up as much as physically possible before it started raining, lots more to do for another day. Need to sort out if there is anything else to order/organise whilst there will be a few weeks of downtime where not much gets done until parts arrive! Will see how this all goes :D
