That does make sense.....chrysler over her has more of a rep than lancia as sad as that sounds.....people think italian is trouble and those that still remember the old lancias wont go near them big shame....
Can see them selling lancias on europe though....

Lancias are synonymous with rust in the UK. That may be why that monstrosity is badged a Chrysler.

Oh, and you've all omitted to mention one of the most beautiful and evocative cars of all time. The Stratos.

I love the stratos.....i love the new one also....

The old lancias will always be remembered for rust and so is a big gamble for them to start importing over here, so they give it to chrysler who have a good reo for warranty....5 years i think and they honour it well.....

When Lancia left the UK the rust had been sorted but memories die hard.....The Integrale was fine and the Dedra......I always loved the Thema as well especially trhe Ferrari engined one....Not thats a car to have in the garage..

When I was at school / college I worked weekends and holidays as a butcher, my boss only bought Lancias and had betas hpe, gammas etc I quite liked them and thought they looked quite nice/different and remember them being pretty quick. The last one he had was a bit of tank but I forget what it was called. He bought a new one every couple of years so I guess I never saw them rust. At that time I remember everyone calling Vauxhalls rust buckets due to issues they had in the 1970s with viva etc, they seem to be doing ok now as a company.

The Thema turbo estate was a great car and so much more fun than the volvo T5 that was knocking around in the early 1990s.

It is a shame Lanica ended up the way it did, they made some great cars such as the Stratos and Integrale which won 6 consecutive rally championships.
