Nothing to do with me but these rarely come up for sale second hand & they look in good shape

What's the standard CEL for the Granturismo?
Asking for a friend... ;)

When I fitted mine to my MC-Shift, I did get a CEL soon after they were fitted which I needed to get re-set with a plug in diagnostic but then after an 'Italian tune up' the ECU relearnt the gas temperature settings and all was well again, and it never reoccurred.
And then when fitted to the Stradale, I have never experienced any issues

Also, you can tell your friend that the cats are made of various metals so they eliminate the risk of any ceramics breaking off in the standard cats and getting sucked into the engine which will be of reassurance to your friend no doubt

Well, if you want to go full spuds out fit the X too. The valves do kill it completely though it’s just when it on choke at cold start it rattles the windows and you can’t get round the bark on startup. Larini do a free flow silenced H which might suit you better.

Either way you do need to do something with the mid box

Have you managed to fit these yet Ewan as would be interested to know your thoughts? I installed an X pipe on my strad which certainly increased the volume a lot but slightly concerned it has altered the sound from being less Italian (seems deeper when pushing on in that 2-3k band where the cars do a howl in race mode)

Yes - Matt (Conaero) very kindly fitted them for me. On his car he has these plus the X pipe, and his sounds incredible. I'd say too loud for most people. I'm happy with mine as is, though I could of course fit an X pipe (or more likely, an H pipe) in due course if necessary.
It sounds as though you might prefer an H to your current X. Maybe try that. It would be easy and inexpensive, and you could even sell the X to partly pay for it. (I might even know a possible buyer...!)
Give Matt a call and he'll talk you through it.

My concern about installing an x pipe! I want louder but retaining that throaty deep bass tone too.

in that case don't worry, it's added more base. If I were to give an example I'd say it brings out more of the cross plane crank noise than what you relate to a flat plane howl. Mine has gone a bit more like an old C63 I had. I think you will like it if you want bass.
I enjoyed a very specific higher pitch howl when under load between 2-3k revs which is still there but a deeper tone.

Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, it's hard to describe lol

Thanks Ewan. Great to hear you are happy with the results. Maybe if we are ever allowed car meets again our paths with cross and I can have a listen. I got the X-pipe from Marios (I'm based in the North) which he get's fashioned himself so was very good value for money anyway so certainly wouldn't be averse to trying the H at some point.

We are all going to Bebs for cigars and wine on unlock. Perhaps we can have db contest at the same time.

Count me in.
I’m “quietly” confident of wining a dB contest. Unless Conaero drops by!
