I'm thinking about getting the Larini "X" box. However, I haven't quite got my head around the nuanced differences between the two types.

So...explain to us DT...what the Larini H box does......

P

Courtesy of Noor's website:
The Larini Systems Sport Centre section is a gentlemens upgrade for the Maserati 4200 Coupe, Spyder and Gransport models. This product improves flow and performance over standard 4200 Models while keeping volume and sound quality at the right levels.

As an enthusiast, you'll be impressed with the improved flow over stock as well as the amazing look and build quality.

As a gentleman and for use as a daily driver, you'll be impressed with the refined sound quality.

The Larini Sports Centre section is aimed squarely at unleashing character and restraining volume levels. Compared to the X-Pipe which offers unleashed Ferrari V8 sound with more scream and crackle. The new Centre section allows you to run with a more mellow, deeper character and reduced volume that helps to hide some of the raw sound found with the Performance X-Pipe. This product is well suited to run with the De-Cats and Sport Mufflers when driven on a daily basis or when more discretion is required.

So improves flow and in my experience gives a bit more of a roar under accelleration but with stock boxes fairly quiet. teamed with Larini boxes was a bit much for me. X pipe even louder.

GHope that helps.

In a word, you hooligan! TBH, the H pipe was loud enough, it will sound like a spitfire with that thing on, good luck!

This thread has got me thinking that maybe the X pipes will be too loud. It's not as if my other car is quiet. The Hawk Stratos is so loud that I needed to buy a satnav with a headphone jack so that I could hear the dammed thing. Even at "normal" speeds.

:D

Matt, are you referring to the effect with stock or Larini boxes?

I had Larini all the way through including de cat pipes, with the H pipe, it was savage, so much so, I had to have 2 silencers installed where the cats were, it sounded much better, but still mentally loud. David said when I was ordering and was considering the X pipe, he said it would be my fault if I went deaf!

Just need to find the box it came in now!
Wonder if it's still in Geoff's somewhere?
