Aware many love the modern 24, but would there be any members interested in next years Classic?

Please don't bother with replies saying its not your cup of tea and you prefer the modern version. .. it helps no one.

If it was partners as well, I could well be interested.

Ok I will ask some old time forum members if they want to do it again (Enzo, Paul and Marcos) and see what interest I can drum up.

The 10th Le Mans Classic will take place on 3, 4 and 5 July 2020.So I could be interested. Mrs MLC would like to do the original one too as well as this. I know of a few great Gites.

Le Mans Classic is a much more family friendly event, firstly there are lots of shorter races over the 24 hrs and secondly there is less of a lads culture. The cars are often driver / owners and the whole vibe is much more of a show rather than a competitive race event.

We considered doing Classic with families and even suggested next year before we decided to go stateside and do Indy

It's something I'd like to do, but I don't think next year will be a good idea, especially if we get the house we're after.
As moving in time will be July if it is built on time.

Some of the cars that go are beautiful. I see them heading towards Dover every other year on the M20.

Absolutely, if you need any addresses, do PM me. It goes without saying for the week of the 24hrs, they are ours.

I will be there anyway. Always alternate between main and classic.

I went last year and had a great time, nice and relaxed, not too hectic we had a MASSIVE camping pitch too... Next year is already pencilled into the calendar.

Went to the Classic in 2010, never been to the main.

Seemed very lax with security during the night and I regret not seeing how far I could take that at 2am. In my mind I felt you could have managed to get up the Mulsanne on the inside of the track but no doubt there were gendarmes to stop you.

Arnage was superb with the sound of 70s metal, pit straight was painfully loud when 80s Group C cars were flying past empty grandstands with nothing to absorb the noise.

Two of my favourite images from 2010.

I used to go to the main race, but prefer the classic these days.

I dislike the stag partyesque behaviour - but I do enjoy the racing atmosphere, a good bottle of wine and great company.

Depending on accommodation, I might be up for a trip.

Well it sounds like a few would like to make a weekend of it.

I will start some planning with Phil. Would be good to get an idea of preferences;

Gite
Hotel
B&B

Thanks all

I'll be there, but sadly lack the financial fluidity to join you guys for the whole weekend, but would like to meet up at some point.

We camp just by the Porsche curves.

For the main le mans a gite costs around €240 for 4nights stay breakfast included. This might be less as the classic is not as Popular
