It should be law that a seller stipulates whether a car is recorded on the database as a cat C or D.

It is for a dealer , but not for a private seller

I can't see on the advert where they state it's a CAT D? Or is it something as a minimum they have to state verbally?

The owness is on the prospective purchaser to ask the history ......any history .... its against the law for the dealer to lie or to deliberately omit/mislead the history , Most dealers will have HPI 'd the car before they purchase it and will know the its past
