You know I'll have one. Fell in love with it at Goodwood!

Just a few work investments to prioritise first, and a few dedts to collect (the government currently owes me £400k for a completed project and are being very slow to pay!) And then I'll put my order in or more likely end up paying a speculator a premium for one.

Fortunately, I have the number for @Contigo

The deposit is £2,000 and refundable if you don't place an order.

Saw that when I spec'd this!

Back on topic of V12 AM’s, I’ve just had the rear valved box of my Vanquish replaced with a custom stainless system with simple H pipe.

Saves 30kg of weight and the sound is just awesome. New mild steel back box is £5k from AM and the existing one shows what a pile of mild steel old c..p some of it is.

That's more like it, Frank! Where did you get the work done? I've been a long-term user of AM Cambridge but for non-service work will look for a good indie.

I hope it does well too, but I can’t help but think that they’ve lost the Elise buyer and that was their most successful car. The Evora was their most successful new car launch at the time too.
As a serial Elise buyer it is sad to see it go but pretty sure they have sold in very small numbers over the last few years as it got more and more expensive.

Went to a specialist exhaust fabricator in Suffolk. He has done numerous race cars and makes all the systems for the ASM DBR1 replicas. Can’t recommend him enough, but waiting list is months to get a slot so you have to be patient.

Thank you. Relatively local for me, which is unusual!

Respected indies seem to gravitate towards the Cotswolds, which is fine for a night away but otherwise less useful for day-to-day tweakery and fettling.

Heywood and Scott in Basildon always have a very good reputation if you need exhaust work.

Last time I went there they were building a bespoke exhaust for a DB5 (I think).

I'm actually trying to avoid getting any exhaust work done. I'd like less restrictive manifolds (asthmatic pig iron with a wheezy old primary cat built in about an inch from the heads), but the cost of doing that with all those lovely cylinders is, shall we say, not appealing. What is appealing is that it word free of quite a lot of torques and about 60 horses of power. Not that it needs it as such, but the car is a bit flat between 2-3k, which is the zone that would enjoy being liberated a little.

Not yet I doesn't! My house is preparing for an invasion of the wallet snatchers window renovation fitting glazing blah blah people. Let's see what's left after the locusts leave town.

That reminds me, I need someone to fix a few of our windows. Gaffer tape isn't very secure for keeping windows shut against unwanted intruders (apparently).

Was the V12 DB7 something you could envisage crossing continents in? I've always had a soft spot for their shape, given that I had the poorer cousin 'X100' XK8 that was engineering on the same wheelbase.

When I grow up :))) I'd quite like to tour around Europe with Mrs.Makeshift with the top down of a DB7 V12 Vantage Volante... if that's not too pretentious.

Two children to put through education first, however.
Yes absolutely- clearly it’s a 2 seater but the boot was ok and you could cover miles and miles and not give it a second thought.
Infotainment was a it old hat but that never bothered me and I am sure it could be upgraded.
If you are heavy on the right foot, you will get to see lots of petrol stations though

Interesting. Could be the new Vanq. That's a mid-engined beastie, iirc. Today's the day! Let's see. I'm looking forward to learning more.

Ah yes the remodel of the Valhalla. Will have a watch if that once I get a minute to relax.
