That's crazy.
I expect it'll cool off over winter.
Serious question, if I have £70k or so, what options are more appealing that the Emira?

There aren’t many looks wise. If I had 70/80k to spend now I would get a V12 Vanatge and wait a see how the Emira pans out. You could enjoy the V12 nd potentially not lose any money and then go for an Emira once they have needed in he initial builds.

I'm in the same place but actually at a slightly higher price point as I want a manual and the 4 pot Emira is not.

But the question is very valid - I have considered an F430 (but not for long!), getting more than 1 car and then getting something wildy impractical (GT40 or Stratos rep) but the parking space remains empty ..... which is very rare for me.

I thought the 4 pot was coming as both manual and DSG? Would make sense as I don’t think the specific V6 Lotus uses comes in Toyotas anymore.

From what I have read the V6 will have both Auto and manual but the AMG just the DSG which makes sense as it is only matted to this in the A45 etc. Think the V6 is out first as they probably have the V6 engines already in abundance but as you say not sure how long that will last.

I might yet go for the V6 manual.

Keeping my Exige V6 as my nutter car though.

Appeal of the Emira is ride and handling (Tour spec), and it simply being new with a 3 year warranty.

Btw, it's emerged that the V6 will be 416bhp.

I have to say my mate had an Evora when he worked for Lotus and the ride/handling balance was superb.

Indeed, Lotus are all about supple ride and compliance. My Exige rides brilliantly on Bilstein dampers.

The two best cars I’ve come across for ride and handling are my mate’s Evora and my Alpina B3s. You get out of one into something like a diesel Audi and can’t understand why the ride is so crippling yet somehow it doesn’t go round corners either.

sonit will not have much more than the AMG unit….Well that is if it has 400 BHP and not 360.

That blue Vanquish is very nice but £150K seems ridiculous, (to me anyway).

The S version seems to have held its value well over the last year. Not many made compared to the the standard Vanquish so rare and a more desirable car as it improves the driving experience over the standard car. Plus being the last of the old Vanquish models that also helps. Cheapest I’ve seen is 118k for a higher miles one and don’t think they will be dropping under 110k any day soon if at all.

The S would be my choice, Andy. Without a roof.

Deposit paid on the Emira V6 manual with LSD.

Either blue or yellow.

WOW….Didn’t see that coming…Especially on the Aston thread ;-) ..Look forward hearing about your journey…Best looking car to be unveiled for some time me thinks…..P.S. Yellow….
