Hello all... ciao...hola...jo napot kivanok...bonjour...

I was very recently blessed to have just acquired my very first real sportscar...my first SUPERCAR --- a black (nero) 2008 Granturismo - with just over 29K miles! I now own this beauty thanks to my very generous and beyond thougtful and LOVING significant other; I should probably just say "boyfriend", but for God's sake I am 46 years old and it almost sounds weird to use that term - especially since I am also recently divorced....thank GOD! But different story and clearly irrelevant.

If anyone has seen the hilarious Netflix original movie "Wrong Missy", you just might appreciate the name I chose for the newest member of our family -- "SHEILA"! Today is only my third full day of DWD Sheila..."drooling while driving" and I have already fallen in love. The moment I sat in her driver's seat, it felt like a perfect fit. I felt at home and oh so HAPPY!! I think I actually giggled, in all honesty.

I look forward to some great conversations with some of you folks and I am sure I will learn a great deal about owning and loving a Maserati. I will have to tell the story about how I came about snagging her...it was not planned and I never had my eye on a Maserati. This was meant to be. In my first photo you will see Sheila and Betty bonding in our Arizona driveway. GRIN!!!

Looks lovely, and so nice to see one with silver wheels rather than silly gloss black.

Good to read you are smitten... make sure the battery is strong or you will have issues.

Thank you kindly! I sure will. I actually want to have my wheels dipped in black, but keep the emblem silver and add the valve stem caps.74195

Welcome aboard young man. It's a lovely feeling isn't it. Mine was the first Granturismo that I ever saw (or heard) so I know how you feel.
And you have the original style wheels which subtly portray the Masetati Tridents. Leave them silver, show them off or have them refurbished.
I've had mine now 4 years and still love her.

Well Done You.
Keep your posts coming along with your adventures.
Ha - thanks for the encouragement. Before I "broke up with" MLB, I was a frequent contributer to the Arizona Diamondbacks message board. I so enjoy discussing similar passions with others, and LOVE to write, so this is a perfect outlet for me. Plus, I am taking a break from my MBA studies and this will undoubtedly keep me busy. I do plan on writing some reviews as a first time supercar and Maserati owner. Stay tuned!

Congratulations on the car -it looks fantastic.
If I may, could I ask you to keep news of your significant others generosity fairly quiet.
My Mrs has been happy enough with a handbag or two up till now and news of this may set the bar slightly higher ;)
Enjoy!

Sheila was a VERY UNEXPECTED SURPRISE* and I am beyond thankful and still in disbelief. *why do we say that anyway? Aren't surprises unexpected? Are surprises ever expected?

Shh...mum's the word. Wink!!

You're only as old as the "significant other" you feel
You're a Wildcat & your Maser will keep you young at heart!
Congrats.

That is FABULOUS!! THANKS! My significant other is actually six years younger than I -- WHOO HOO! He DEFINITELY KEEPS ME YOUNG! He excites me and he challenges me!

Back to the wheels...

Paint them whatever colour you prefer, it's your car.

The smoother the finish you can get, the easier it will be to keep them clean.

If you do go black, make sure you paint the hubs black at the same time.

Also, when washing, spray Atom Mac before and after washing, to stop little rust particles showing on your wheels.
