Am I missing something? An old Maserati with a blown motor, ugly rear arches and a reputation for unreliability, going for £19k, and I thought french fhil and his R16s was f*cked in the head. The world is going mad.

Theres a R16 TX for sale over here for €22,000 Benny that will get you revving ;)
I'm aiming for my Manta to be worth €30,000 and agree the World is Mad.

Paint on this looks fantastic. Needs more pics though.

Lovely paint? How about this QP 1 'ONLY' 12.5k.. thought I'd add to the madness...

You still won't beat a good QPV duo select especially the forum ones that popped up in the last 24 months around the 5K mark in my opinion.

Having had 4 QPV and 4 QPIV I’m happy to say that the V is miles “better” than the IV.
However, I’m currently looking for an as-near-to-perfect-as-I-can-find IV (at a sensible market-value price) and am not considering another V. They have a certain charm, and idiosyncrasies that I find endearing.

Comparing QPIV to QPV is like apples and oranges. They have absolutely nothing in common or even share ethos. But if you like them for what they are it makes sense to me to have both and still have change towards maintenance which will be substantial!

Absolutely, at these prices it's like giving them away and therefore not worth it. If you want something for a change better to store long term somewhere and revisit when you miss it.

I take it you’ve seen the silver auto Evo at Nuvola?

The QPV is a better car all round but there is something strangely intriguing about the QP IV especially in 3.2 Evo manual spec
Agree. Newer versions of a car often tend to be better, but it doesn’t make them more desirable. Some of the older cars I lust after can be a touch disappointing when driven (or re driven after say 25 years), but it’s the other aspects that tug at the heart strings. I still think the QP IV in the original post was a good buy, especially when compared to the other two mentioned in this thread. I hope someone on the forum now owns it.
