It is worth noting that these are for non-skyhook cars so check first, particularly for U.K. members where Skyhook was standard for the market.

Good luck with the sale.

You are mistaken, my 2004 Coupe originals were skyhook, according to local Maserati dealership skyhook shocks are no longer made and to replace the old skyhook shocks these standard 200241's can and should be used.
If you need to stay with skyhook, there are used one for sale and replacing a used skyhook with another improves not much, unless your old used skyhook is broken.
So if you want new shocks, standards like these are in and skyhooks are out.
DO CHECK WITH MASERATI DEALERSHIP.

So, they aren’t skyhook, which is what I said. I am not sure that having skyhook shocks on the front and these standard shocks on the rear would be a good idea. Did your dealer tell you how to deal with that?

No, the dealership indicated prices and part numbers for 4200 Coupe shocks, and indicated that the $1400 plus priced skyhooks are no longer made. These are not skyhooks as most know skyhooks are not YELLOW and standards are ( also part numbers are different).
As for "It is worth noting " The new standard shocks do sell for a bit over $400 each.
Generally no shocks last 20 years and if it does , it does not perform good, so if a skyhook fan wants to ride on the old shocks
that is his problem.

You seem unhappy that I pointed this out, this was not my intention. My intent was to make sure that those that weren’t aware of the difference or that didn’t know that U.K. cars all had skyhook didn’t end up with something they didn’t want. The rest is up to them.

As I said before, good luck with the sale.

Then we will have to agree to disagree.

I don’t think that anything I posted was extreme.

Perhaps a little lost in translation here?

@k1coupe is saying that Skyhook shocks are NLA(!!!!) They have put these up for sale as an alternative for swapping to coil overs or rebuilding skyhook shocks... If you have skyhook then all 4x struts will need to be changed and the car will need to either go to the dealership for the sports suspension to be turned off or you will need the resistor that plugs into the skyhook strut connectors to fool the system into thinking that they are still there to avoid a skyhook error light on the dash

If we cannot get hold of new skyhook struts then this will be an impending problem for everyone as stated above, they don't last for 20 years on a 1.8t car.

Indeed. None of this is in dispute. I said that they were not skyhook, for clarity.

You make a good point regarding the process of going from one set up to the other and needing to do all 4 corners. Which is why a buyer should know what they are getting into.

Eurospares (and others in Uk) offer a skyhook replacement for 2004 Coupe (part numbers 197641 for front and 197912 for rear). Not cheap at around £1,550 a pair plus bushes etc that you may need. There are also the FD and KW coil-over alternatives but these would also involve deactivating skyhook.

I fitted KWs to my 42 coupe for about £500 a corner.
I have to say, it drives really well. Really well.
After going from no rear ARB at all, to FD arb kit, I did think initially it was kind of crazy as the roll bars made a huge difference; but the way the car drives and still yields a decent comfort level is an eye opener..! Personally, I wouldnt skimp on dampers, not after seeing the improvement decent, adjustable coilovers make.
Dont do half a job...:excellent:
Skyhook cost £80 to shut down with SD software intervention- many have reported it isnt even necessary....
