We will do things very differently next year..The brief was set up for drivers who had driven Brunty before....The chap briefing should have a map of the course to show the corners as he spoke about the course...as they do at Llandow.......Will be feeding this back to John......

Andy, the only part I felt uncomfortable with was the end of the straight. The straight is so wide that even by looking in all mirrors and having a glance over my shoulders, I couldn't be sure there wasn't another car behind or coming alongside me. So wasn't sure if I needed to give way or was ok just to turn in. The wide variation of combinations of speed and stopping ability (both the cars and the bravery of the drivers) just added to the uncertainty. I think at one point I was in a 5-abreast run down to the corner, and I don't think anyone really knew how to handle it...lots of looking across at each other and tentative braking. Not really sure how to improve the situation next year, but maybe funnel everyone into a narrower straight, and make sure we all understand it's not a braking competition and that although we want to give the punters the best possible experience, the racing line isn't the objective.

More time for briefings, and make sure all drivers go to the briefing (at least to start with). Maybe a printed track map "rules of the road" for the drivers.

I will send you one of my emails Andy that I sent my drivers. I cobbled together a map of the track. Is your asda email ok?
I know this is not a track day but my rule is, new track, spend a couple of hours learning the track. Then go out for instruction with a race drive to be pushed really hard to get fast laps in. This event does not allow this and is nothing like this.
I think the faster drivers need to remember the slower drivers. Everyone is doing it for the fun of it and for the charities.

Thanks Dave, perhaps next year we can have a joint effort and make we are singing off the same hymn sheet...

Thanks for this comment...

I am going to use it as my signature! It still makes me chuckle. The 35 owners are normally called elitist and stuck up!

Please, feel free to do so but please, please, make it non-attributable as I don't want every 35 driver tearing me a new one! Thanks in advance! :D

Don't worry. You are entitled to your opinion and hopefully people have a sense of humour.

Thanks to Mark for posting an apology on the GTR forum. I am hoping it gets accepted and an apology comes back and we put all this behind us.
