I have a constant rental car as some may know and I was surprised to find that servicing is carried out at home by ATS regardless of the car. So far this year I had a MB C Class and a Nissan X Trail serviced outside my home.

Along with this I am always shocked at how poorly the cars are cleaned...old soap brush and jet wash by the supplier.

Given how we value a MD history and a car that looks well cared for I suspect there will be a number of lower quality Ghibli and Levante coming onto the used market now Sixth have them on the fleet.

Ones to steer clear of?

I wouldn't let some of the mupetts who work for the likes of ATS within a mile of a Maser!

I can tell some horror stories about monkeys and main stealers, I always make a point of checking things when home after a service, found cordless drills left in the engine bay by the mechanics, fittings not properly refitted with all the screws/bolts and the worst one was noticing a dribble of oil under the car on my driveway after a full service, decided to just wipe the sump plug clean thinking it was just residue and to my horror the sump plug spun round, they had forgotten to tighten it with a socket and was just on finger tight, the phone call to the main dealer was rather a rude one and they despatched a mechanic poste haste to sort it out, dread to think what would of happened if I hadn't done my usual checks, the main dealer dodged a bullet there could have been a new engine job eventually. Moral of story is always check your car after getting it back from a dealer even if it is a MD

Ats offered brake fluid change for £40.

I supplied my own fluid and they did all the cars.

The Lambo has to be driven up and down the road a couple of times to test them ... and the guy hurt his back taking the centre lock wheels off the detomaso.

I would use them again no problem.

Are you serious, you actually take your Lambo and a De Tomaso to ATS

The thing that would put me off buying an ex-rental Maserati absolutely isn't who has serviced it!

Maserati / premium manufacturer dealers are likely a little different, but I put little weight in main dealer servicing, though I appreciate I'm in the minority.
I prefer to trust someone who knows what they are doing, and trades based on their reputation, not the logo above their door.

I'm not even sure I'd draw a distinction between the monkeys at ATS and the monkeys at, say Arnold Clark - who, where I live, are main dealers for Ford, Vauxhall, Kia, Abarth, Fiat, Mercedes Benz, Smart, Hyundai, Renault, Dacia - so probably more than half the cars on the road. All the gear, no idea comes to mind.

Of course the flip side of that is that if you do find a dealer, or indeed an ATS which is run by someone who does give a toss, it's probably all good...

It was mainly doing on the road side on trolly jacks and it took just an hour to do a major service!... It needed new front tyres and that was not evwn mentioned despite being below the tread depth indicators... called Enterprise and they change the car instead of the tyres!

I had a chat about used Maserati and their "Used approved" scheme last week and what they offer . I found out that it was 2 year warranty, 2 years roadside assitance, 130 point check (or suchlike) , history check (only sell a car know to them and the network) and it seemed a step in the right direction. Asked would I buy I said yes... roll on a week later I agreed to buy a used Ghibli from a main dealer, mentioned this "Officine Maserati Certified Pre-Owned" scheme to Maserati/Ferrari main dealer and they informed me that they don't offer it at all dealer..... WTAF!!!!!! Maserati UK if you are reading this then please get your sh!t in order and roll it out across the whole of your dealer network please. I've lost a years warranty from this.
